On this page, you will find a S6 legendary budget Warlock Handlock Naxx Wild deck. It costs 6,400 a total of Arcane Dust to make, and it is called legendary because it utilises any number of required Legendary cards. This deck is designed to help you reach the top of the rankings (and possibly even Legend rank).

2. Strategy

This Mid Budget Warlock Control (Handlock) Deck offers solid solutions for board control, but can be extremely aggressive mid game and lead to early victories.

The first few turns are usually rather passive and consist mostly in filling your hand with Life Tap, which will give you all the card advantage you need in exchange for health. If you happen to start the game with an Ancient Watcher and an Ironbeak Owl, you can play the Watcher and turn it into an attacker by silencing it with the Owl.

Mortal Coil and Soulfire can easily take out early threats, while Hellfire and Shadowflame will provide AoE damage to regain control of the board. Siphon Soul will often serve as a late game removal, which should be saved for your opponent's biggest threats (although you can use it for healing if you are really low on health).

Your main concern will always be establishing board control, and you can easily do so by playing your high value minions and turning them into Taunters with Sunfury Protector or Defender of Argus.

As stated above, you will often draw a lot of cards in the early turns, which can allow you to play a big Twilight Drake or a turn 4 Mountain Giant.

Your opponent or your Hero Power will eventually bring you low on health, which will allow you to play Molten Giants.

Loatheb provides solid minion value and will cause nightmares to any spell heavy opponent. With proper anticipation, you can easily destroy your opponent's plans and prevent a potential board wipe.

Sylvanas Windrunner always has great impact on the board, and often forces your opponent to trade multiple minions efficiently in order to avoid her Deathrattle.

Lord Jaraxxus will replace your hero and set your life total to 15, which can often be used for healing, should you be low on health. INFERNO! and Blood Fury can generate a lot of value on the board as well as put your opponent under immense pressure.

2.1. Synergies and Combinations

Sunfury Protector and Defender of Argus can turn your some of your minions into excellent Taunters.

  • Ancient Watcher with Taunt can easily become a great solution for the early game against most aggressive decks.
  • Twilight Drake and Mountain Giant can often provide amazing defensive value in the mid game.
  • When getting low on health, Molten Giants buffed with Taunt are essential to your defense against aggressive decks.

Ancient Watcher can be silenced with Ironbeak Owl, which allows it to attack.

Shadowflame can wipe the entire enemy board when used on a minion buffed with Power Overwhelming.

2.2. Mulligan / Starting Hand

In general, you wish to start with a Mountain Giant or Twilight Drake and play them once at 4 Mana. Against agressive decks, however, you Hellfire, early game removals, and Earthen Ring Farseer.

Ancient Watcher can sometimes end up being a dead card in your hand, so you should mulligan it away, if none of the other cards you keep synergize with it.

Against aggressive decks, holding on to a pair of Molten Giants is always a good idea, so you should never mulligan them away if you are expecting an aggressive opponent.

2.3. Card Swaps

Cairne Bloodhoof and The Black Knight can often be considered if the meta game is full of other control decks, in which case you can sacrifice a portion of your removal to make room for additional end game.

You can also consider one or two Big Game Hunters and maybe an additional Faceless Manipulator to have more answers to big minions.

Alexstrasza can replace Lord Jaraxxus and be used as an alternative finisher.

3. ChangeLog

  • 30 Sep. 2014: Following the small nerf to Leeroy Jenkins, we decided to replace this card with Lord Jaraxxus. Have both Alexstrasza and Jaraxxus in the same deck felt a bit redundant, so we replace Alexstrasza with an extra Ironbeak Owl.
