1. Battlefield of Eternity

Battlefield of Eternity
Battlefield of Eternity

The High Heavens and the Burning Hells clash, quite literally, in a battlefield that represents their everlasting struggle. Two Immortals, ancient warriors locked in a duel to the death, need your help to prevail against their eternal foe. Vanquish the enemy Immortal, and you'll find yourself charging over hallowed or profane ground—right onto the enemy's doorstep.

Engage in Immortal Combat

Two Immortals fight at the center of the map. Help your Immortal prevail, and lay waste to the enemy's Forts.

Employ Eternal Tactics

Protect your Immortal by obliterating the opposing team, or descend upon the enemy Immortal with relentless fury.

Hire Unique Mercenaries

Bolster your forces with Fallen Shaman and cunning Impalers, who will lend their powers to your cause!

Battlefield of Eternity is a map with only two lanes instead of three, which puts a lot of focus on controlling Map Objectives such as the Immortal and Mercenaries in order to get rid of the enemy Structures as quickly as possible. Thus, Leoric's Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing becomes a huge asset in order to damage Minion waves and Structures throughout the game.

Winning a match on Battlefield of Eternity goes hand in hand with dominating the middle of the map in order to weaken the enemy Immortal and summon your own one. Leoric's Entomb Icon Entomb provides great zoning and focus on imprisoned targets, especially while defending your own Immortal. Try to stay close to the rest of your team at all times, as Leoric works best with a team to keep him alive while he draws the enemy fire on himself.

Undying Icon Undying is a particularly useful trait on this map, as it provides your team with important vision on the enemy team. This allows you to adjust your strategy accordingly and helps you to decide whether defending your own Immortal or attacking the enemy one would be more beneficial.

2. Blackheart's Bay

Blackheart's Bay
Blackheart's Bay

The ghost pirate Blackheart has staked his claim upon the realm of Mistharbor. His undead pirate crew has poured onto the streets, claiming the once thriving marketplace as their new den of villainy.

Collect Doubloons

Attack treasure chests, mercenaries, and skeletons to collect doubloons.

Turn in Doubloons

Hand your doubloons over to Blackheart or you will drop them all when you die!

Bombard Your Enemies

After receiving enough doubloons from your team, Blackheart will bombard your enemy's forts!

On Blackheart's Bay, Leoric is a solid Hero to fight for Treasure Chest control in mid lane, thanks to his strong self-sustain provided by Drain Hope Icon Drain Hope. Furthermore, Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing is a great tool to damage Minion Waves and Structures early on to make your first broadside a lot more efficient.

Due to the static Map Objective in the middle of the map, Leoric's Undying Icon Undying can become a powerful scouting tool to keep track of the enemy team's movement and thus enable your teammates to prevent them from turning in Coins to Captain Blackheart.

3. Cursed Hollow

Cursed Hollow
Cursed Hollow

As one of the first and most ancient realms pulled into the Nexus, the realm of Raven Court has grown large and prosperous over the millennia. The province of Cursed Hollow, a gothic landscape of twisting villages and farmlands, serves as an ideal trial grounds for the Heroes of the Storm.

Collect Tributes

The Raven Lord will periodically create tributes. Gather them for your team!

Curse Your Enemies

Upon capturing three tributes, the Raven Lord will curse your enemies.

Cursed Forts and Minions

Cursed forts will not attack, and cursed minions are reduced to 1 health.

Leoric is a very stable laner on Cursed Hollow. While Wraith Walk Icon Wraith Walk allows him to escape most ganks, Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing makes him clear Minion waves fairly easily. Due to the large amount of Mercenary Camps available on this map and the fact that games on Cursed Hollow normally last more than 20 minutes, we recommend picking up Reanimation Icon Reanimation at Level 1. Unfortunately for Leoric, he is not very good at capturing Mercenary Camps on his own which forces him to stay with the rest of his team most of the time.

Make sure to continuously soak lanes, especially if your team does not want to contest Tributes. Being a team player will be one of the most important tasks on this map, so always make sure to watch your own position, especially while moving through enemy territory.

4. Dragon Shire

Dragon Shire
Dragon Shire

These lush and deceptively peaceful gardens have grown over time, covering the once molten realm known as Dragon Spire. Beneath this verdant paradise, the ancient power of the dragons was sealed away... and their descendants have neither forgotten nor forgiven the trespasses of those who wronged them.

Control the Shrines

There are two shrines your team needs to control to activate the Dragon Knight's statue.

Free the Dragon Knight

While activated, bring a hero to the statue to free the Dragon Knight from his prison!

Devastate Enemy Forts

Use the Dragon Knight's immense power to level enemy forts!

On Dragon Shire Leoric usually takes a solo lane or rotates around the map in order to collect as many Regeneration Globes as possible to gain stacks for Reanimation Icon Reanimation. The short distances between each lane allows Leoric to execute deadly ganks in order to establish control over the Dragon Shrines if he is not needed in lane.

One important thing to keep in mind is the fact that either Warriors like yourself or a melee Assassin, such as Illidan or Zeratul, should opt for the control over the Dragon Knight. This rule applies to Warriors in general, since the Dragon Knight will fulfill a similar role as Leoric, which is, of course, to charge into the enemy lines and keep them busy this way. If you pilot the Dragon Knight during the early-mid game you should mostly try to avoid taking unnecessary damage and instead roam between lanes to damage as many enemy structures as possible.

If the enemy team secures a Dragon Knight, make sure to use your crowd control abilities as frequently as possible on it to slow down its advance. It is worth mentioning that Wraith Walk Icon Wraith Walk can prevent the enemy Dragon Knight from kicking you away with its Savage Charge.

5. Garden of Terror

Garden of Terror
Garden of Terror

Once the royal gardens were a splendor to behold. But lately a shadow has fallen over them... Writhing tendrils creep across the grounds at night, and a number of servants have disappeared while walking its twisting paths. Queen Nightshade claims to be unaware of these incidents, but some are beginning to suspect she has gone mad.

Fight the Shamblers

At night, Shamblers will rise from the gardens.

Collect Seeds

Kill the Shamblers and collect seeds for your team.

Control Garden Terror

With 100 seeds, control a garden terror and destroy your enemies!

Due to the abundance of Regeneration Globes provided by Mercenary Camps and neutral Garden Terrors, Reanimation Icon Reanimation is a talent worth considering on this map. As Leoric, your top priority should be to assist your allies in claiming as many Seeds as possible. Make sure to scout the bushes to the left and right, while your team is fighting the big Garden Boss Monster to prevent enemy ambushes.

Similar to piloting the Dragon Knight on Dragon Shire, Leoric is a good choice when it comes to controlling the Garden Terror. During the early stages of the game you should try to avoid taking unnecessary damage while inside the Terror. Instead, use Plant Horror Overgrowth to damage enemy buildings and Spore Queen's Curse to prevent the enemies from defending. If you notice that your Garden Terror is taking too much damage, activate its Sprint ability and rotate towards a different lane.

6. Infernal Shrines

Infernal Shrines
Infernal Shrines

Demonic corruption threatens the Gardens of Hope. Called forth by the Shrines, Punishers prowl the battlefield, terrifying creatures that live to destroy heroes. Defeat the Shrines' Guardians before your enemies do, and the next Punisher will fight for you; fail, and face the demon's wrath.

Activate the Shrines

The Infernal Shrines periodically gather power. Activate them and prepare for a fight.

Defeat Guardians

Slay 30 Guardians before the enemy team to bring forth a mighty Punisher.

Beware the Punisher

Punishers have one of three devastating powers. Be careful, they focus on attacking heroes above all else.

Although this map features three lanes, the distances between lanes are fairly short. This makes Reanimation Icon Reanimation a useful talent to pick at Level 1. Due to the tremendous impact the Map Objective has on the course of the game, it is imperative to stick to the rest of your team in order to appear at the Shrines in time.

Since waveclear abilities allow you to damage several Skeletal Defenders at the same time in order to summon the Punisher faster, Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing becomes a very powerful ability on Infernal Shrines. Do not forget, however, that Skeletal Swing's increased damage against all non-heroic targets does not apply on Skeletal Defenders. Also, keep in mind that once a Punisher has been defeated, it will take 1:30 minutes until the next Shrine location gets announced.

7. Sky Temple

Sky Temple
Sky Temple

Floating above the vast desert sands of Luxoria, the Sky Temple serves as a center of worship for the snake god, Ka. He stores his great power within the temples, each of them secured by guardians. With such defenses, no warriors would think to seize the god's power for themselves... or would they?

Capture the Temples

Temples will periodically awaken. Stand within their grounds to capture their power!

Hold the Temples

Remain firm and the temple will unleash a blistering onslaught on your enemy's forts!

Defend the Temples

Guardians will try to wrest control of their temples from your team. Hold them off to keep the temple's power for yourselves!

Pushing and maintaining lane control is crucial on Sky Temple during the early stages of the game. The first two Temples will always activate on the top and middle location of the map, so try to maintain a healthy amount of Mana and health in order to participate in early skirmishes. Using Drain Hope Icon Drain Hope on enemy Heroes and collecting Regeneration Globes in order to boost Reanimation Icon Reanimation can help you in that matter. After around 4 minutes into the game you should try to clear the first Bruiser Mercenary Camp on your half of the map using Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing as many times as possible. Capturing the Bruisers in time provides your team with some heavy pressure on the top lane during the next Temple phase.

The second Temple that is going to get activated will always be the bottom one. As Leoric, it is imperative that you rotate quickly enough to fight along your teammates, as your Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing and your massive team fight presence as a Warrior are essential to engage and fight the enemy for Temple control.

8. Tomb of the Spider Queen

Tomb of the Spider Queen
Tomb of the Spider Queen

The long forgotten tombs of Luxoria have found a new master. Deep within their timeworn chambers, the Spider Queen Neithis stirs from her ancient slumber. Present her with the gems of power she seeks, and you may just escape with your lives.

Collect Gems

Enemy spider minions and Heroes drop magical gems upon death. Gather as many as you can!

Turn in Gems

Relinquish your gems at one of the Spider Queen's altars or you will drop them all when you die!

Summon Webweavers

Whichever team turns in enough gems first will unleash the Webweavers to destroy their enemy's defenses.

Being one of the smallest maps currently available, Tomb of the Spider Queen will draw all your attention towards early skirmishes. Talent builds that include Reanimation Icon Reanimation are very strong on this map, as you can simply rotate between top, mid, and even bot lane to gather a large number of stacks early on. Using Skeletal Swing Icon Skeletal Swing to shove your lane (which is preferably either top or middle) buys you enough time to rotate around the map and help your allies.

To support pushes while your Webweavers are on the battlefield, we suggest taking March of the Black King Icon March of the Black King at Level 10. However, Entomb Icon Entomb can be a strong choice as well due to the numerous narrow passages near the two turn-in locations. Something to keep in mind when playing on this map is to start clearing Mercenary Camps shortly before Webweavers appear on the map in order to maximise the strength of your next push.
