1. Heroes Muradin Works Well With

In this section, we will look at the Heroes that work particularly well with Muradin.

1.1. Anub'arak

Anub'arak Portrait Anub'arak fulfills a very similar role to Muradin. His Impale Icon Impale is an excellent tool to stun several opponents at the same time and can thus be timed with Muradin's Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt very efficiently. Anub'arak's Burrow Charge Icon Burrow Charge allows him to easily follow Muradin's team fight initiation with Dwarf Toss Icon Dwarf Toss and vice versa. All in all, these two Warriors complement one another's playstyle in many aspects, and their huge combined crowd control potential is a big threat to nearly every enemy team composition.

1.2. Tyrande

Tyrande Portrait Muradin's Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt and Thunder Clap Icon Thunder Clap abilities pave the way for Tyrande to land Lunar Flare Icon Lunar Flare reliably. Additionally, Tyrande's role as a semi-support who is capable of dishing out significant damage and supporting her allies at the same time allows Muradin to engage enemies without worrying too much about his own health. Her Protective Shield Icon Protective Shield and Overflowing Light Icon Overflowing Light talents are strong abilities to keep Muradin alive in the heat of battle. Furthermore, Tyrande's Hunter's Mark Icon Hunter's Mark enables Muradin to deal significantly more damage himself, especially after he picked talents like Thunder Strike Icon Thunder Strike at Level 13 and Give 'em the Axe! Icon Give 'em the Axe! at Level 16.

1.3. Jaina, Kael'thas

Jaina Portrait Kael'thas Portrait

Jaina and Kael'thas are played in a very similar way. Both of them require strong protection in order to unleash their full burst potential. Muradin provides just that: his Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt and Thunder Clap Icon Thunder Clap can be used defensively to impair enemies that are threatening Jain or Kael'thas. By the same token, his crowd control spells can also be applied offensively by locking down squishy enemies, which allows Jaina and Kael'thas to hit their strong damage spells like Blizzard Icon Blizzard and Flamestrike Icon Flamestrike more easily.

1.4. Uther

Uther Portrait Uther complements Muradin's playstyle for multiple reasons. First and foremost, his Hammer of Justice Icon Hammer of Justice acts either as a follow up skill to Muradin's Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt or vice versa. Secondly, Uther's strong single target protection, notably Holy Light Icon Holy Light and Divine Shield Icon Divine Shield, is capable of keeping Muradin alive while he is surrounded by several enemies.

2. Heroes Muradin Is Countered By

In this section, we will look at the heroes that counter Muradin particularly well.

2.1. Anub'arak

Anub'arak Portrait Anub'arak is a very uncomfortable Hero to face when playing Muradin because his Scarab Host Icon Scarab Host trait can cause your Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt to hit one of his beetles instead of the desired target.

2.1.1. How To Play Against Anub'arak

Piercing Bolt Icon Piercing Bolt becomes a very useful talent when playing against Anub'arak, because it can stun an enemy Hero even if the first bolt hit one of his scarabs. You should also make sure to constantly check the status of your team's Supporter, since Cocoon Icon Cocoon is mostly used to prevent them from healing. Keeping track of Anub'arak's Burrow Charge Icon Burrow Charge is key to securing kills against him, as otherwise he can just use it to escape.

2.2. Brightwing

Brightwing Portrait Brightwing excels at disabling individual threats thanks to Polymorph Icon Polymorph. This ability prevents Muradin from using any of his self-sustaining spells like Stoneform Icon Stoneform or Avatar Icon Avatar, which means that even he could get burst down if the enemy team focuses their damage on him while being transformed into a critter. Besides, Brightwing's strong heal-over-time completely counters Muradin's low innate damage output which means it will be almost impossible for him to threaten anything near her.

2.2.1. How To Play Against Brightwing

Brightwing's low mobility, especially before Level 10, makes her an ideal target to use Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt on. Always try to stun her first in order to prevent her from casting Polymorph Icon Polymorph on you. It is worth mentioning that Polymorph has a rather long cooldown of 15 seconds, which is why you should always try to keep an eye on when Brightwing last used it and adjust your playstyle accordingly.

2.3. Tassadar

Tassadar Portrait Tassadar's Oracle Icon Oracle trait interferes with Muradin's offensive team fight initiation by revealing him and his allies preemptively. This makes it almost impossible to catch an enemy target off guard. Furthermore, Tassadar is capable of protecting single allied targets with his Plasma Shield Icon Plasma Shield, which counters the efficiency of your Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt ability by a large amount.

2.3.1. How To Play Against Tassadar

You should never try to use Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt on Tassadar himself, unless you know for certain that his Dimensional Shift Icon Dimensional Shift is on cooldown. After Tassadar has used Plasma Shield Icon Plasma Shield on one of his allies, switching on another target could prove to be very efficient, however, it requires good communication with the rest of your team. If Tassadar reveals you by using his Oracle Icon Oracle trait, we strongly recommend to delay any team fight initiation, unless you are in a commanding lead.

2.4. Zeratul

Zeratul Portrait Zeratul is able to completely isolate you after you use Dwarf Toss Icon Dwarf Toss by trapping several of your teammates in his Void Prison Icon Void Prison while you leap into the enemy team. It is also extremely risky to use Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt on Zeratul, as his Blink Icon Blink ability allows him to simply dodge the impact.

2.4.1. How To Play Against Zeratul

Scouting and patience is of utmost importance when facing Zeratul on the battlefield. Thunder Clap Icon Thunder Clap's AoE damage can be a useful tool to detect him if you see a slight shimmer nearby. Zeratul is a very agile Hero due to his Blink Icon Blink ability, which is why you need to time Storm Bolt Icon Storm Bolt very wisely. If you get isolated because of a well executed Void Prison Icon Void Prison, you should immediately retreat back towards your trapped teammates.
