1. Gems↑top

As a Holy Paladin, it is important to obtain the Haste Rating soft cap (of 25.03%). However, given a reasonable gear level, this cap is attainable without the need to gem for it (simply through innate stats and reforging), so we do not mention these gems in the table below.

Sockets Gems
Meta Socket Revitalizing Primal Diamond Icon Revitalizing Primal Diamond or Courageous Primal Diamond Icon Courageous Primal Diamond (better)
Blue Socket Prismatic Socket Purified Imperial Amethyst Icon Purified Imperial Amethyst/Perfect Purified Roguestone Icon Perfect Purified Roguestone
Yellow Socket

If you are still unsure what the optimal gemming strategy is for your character, you can Ask Mr. Robot for a personalised optimisation of your character's gear, by filling the form below.

4. Summing-up Profession Perks↑top

Choosing a profession for your Holy Paladin can impact your raid performance. As a rule, you should shy away from gathering professions (with the exception of Herbalism), which leaves the following viable professions for raiding:

Profession Perks
Tailoring Provides a gain of approximately 320 Intellect through Lightweave Embroidery Icon Lightweave Embroidery or a gain of approximately 750 Spirit through Darkglow Embroidery Icon Darkglow Embroidery, instead of +180 Intellect from Enchant Cloak - Superior Intellect Icon Enchant Cloak - Superior Intellect. It also provides Sanctified Spellthread Icon Sanctified Spellthread, a much cheaper equivalent of Greater Pearlescent Spellthread Icon Greater Pearlescent Spellthread, the usual leg enchant.

Leatherworking Provides a 320 Intellect gain through Fur Lining - Intellect Icon Fur Lining - Intellect.
Herbalism Provides a 480 Haste Rating gain in average through Lifeblood Icon Lifeblood.

Blacksmithing is the best profession for Holy Paladins, since it provides a higher secondary stat increase than any other profession.
