With version 1.0 launching on January 22, three limited Operators are coming to banners: Laevatain, Gilberta, and Yvonne. If you are wondering who to pull first, who will fit your team, or who has the most endgame value, this guide breaks it down in simple terms!
Keep in mind that your first goal is to enjoy the game and pull for characters you truly like! The following recommendations are only for those who want to maximize the long-term value of the characters they pull for and who want to play meta.
They are only suggestions, and you will be able to play and enjoy every aspect of the game, even if you do not go for the current best character.
Laevatain – Heat DPS, Multi-Target

Banner: January 22 – February 7
Laevatain is your go-to Heat DPS for wiping out groups of enemies. If you like blasting waves of mobs quickly, she will be the best pick for early to mid-game content.
Why is she strong?
- Best multi-target DPS early on
- Free-to-play-friendly teammates available (Wulfgard, Akekuri, Ardelia)
- Reliable main DPS across all starting regions
Things to watch out for:
- Only Heat DPS among the 1.0 limited characters
- Less effective in single-target boss fights
Pair her with free or common teammates who can sustain her DPS and provide buffs. With this setup, she can carry your team through early events, story missions, and even bosses.
Gilberta – Nature Support, Universal Buff

Banner: February 7 – February 24
Gilberta is a universal support who will boost your team’s DPS and can even crowd control. Her ultimate lasts only a few seconds, so timing matters, but she is insanely powerful and will fit in a lot of teams for a long time.
- Strengths:
- Buffs all DPS in your team
- Groups enemies into a vortex, making it easy for your DPS to deal more damage
- Applies Corrosion debuffs that reduce enemy defenses
- Weaknesses:
- Short ultimate window requires careful rotations
- Healing support is not the best
Gilberta is most likely the most useful pick of the three. She fits almost any team and helps maximize damage for everyone, making her perfect for long-term value. Generally speaking, supports will always be the better pick since they often have much more value long-term than most DPS who get powercreeped quite fast, especially the first ones.
Yvonne – Cryo DPS, Single-Target

Banner: February 24 – End of version 1.0
Yvonne is all about single-target damage, perfect for bosses or very strong elite enemies. She does require careful positioning and a bit of timing when you use her skill, but the payoff can be huge.
- Strengths:
- High single-target damage when enemies are frozen
- Can melt bosses quickly if you can freeze them or immobilize them
- Weaknesses:
- Weaker in multi-target fights
- Relies more on positioning and timing
She is really good with teammates that can crowd-control (Gilberta) or freeze supports (like Alesh), since they can give her an open window so she can burst down the Boss. She is amazing for single-target, but requires a bit more effort to play and to max out her potential than the other two.
Quick Comparison
| Operator | Role | Best Use | Important Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Laevatain | Multi-target Heat DPS | AoE DPS | Reliable early game DPS |
| Gilberta | Universal Buff + Crowd Control | Any team | Good long-term support |
| Yvonne | Single-target Cryo DPS | Boss fights | Excels in single-target |
Basically, what you need to remember is that Gilberta is the best universal support, fits almost any team, and amplifies overall DPS. Laevatain is the best for multi-target AoE Heat damage early on. Yvonne is the best for single-target DPS.
At the end of the day, it is less about who you pull and more about how you build your team. All three Operators are good, and even as a free-to-play player, you can get great results by mixing limited characters with free ones. If you are looking for the long-term, supports usually stay relevant longer, sure, but Endfield also gives you plenty of solid F2P supports, so whichever DPS you choose, you will not be stuck.
Keep also in mind that the early characters in gacha games tend to get outrun rather fast, so you can always wait and see who is next. Remember that banners in Endfield work a little differently, and you can still obtain Laevatain on Yvonne’s banner as well. By that time, we will know who comes after.
