Arknights: Endfield Gacha Explained – How Pulls, Pity, and Banners Work

Jaym0's Avatar by Jaym0

Before Arknights: Endfield even launches, one question keeps coming up again and again: how is the gacha going to work?

Thanks to the latest beta, we do have a pretty clear picture. A few numbers could still change, but the overall system already feels largely locked in, and that makes this a good moment to step back and look at what Endfield’s gacha is actually asking from players, and what you should realistically expect going in.

Character Banners Actually Feel Respectful

One of the best things Endfield does right away is keep character banners clean. When you pull, you get characters. That is it. No weapons, no random filler, no “why did I even roll?” moments.

★6 operators have a low base rate, but because every pull gives you a character, it does not feel as bad as the numbers suggest on paper. You are always getting something usable, even when luck is not on your side.

That alone already puts Endfield ahead of a lot of other gacha games, at least when it comes to character banners.

50/50 & Pity

When you hit a ★6 on a featured banner, you are dealing with a classic 50/50. Half the time you get the featured operator, half the time you don’t.

The good news is that losing the 50/50 does not mean getting dumped into a random graveyard of outdated operators. You can still pull ★6 operators from recent banners that are currently in rotation, and that honestly makes losing feel way less awful. Featured operators stick around for two banners before disappearing until their next rerun. So if you miss an operator on their banner, you still have a small chance to lose your 50/50 on the next banner and pick them up there instead.

On top of that, Endfield also has a pity system. You are guaranteed a ★6 by 80 pulls, with soft pity kicking in earlier, but the featured operator is only guaranteed at 120 pulls, and that counter does not carry over between banners.

So if you are thinking about “just throwing a few pulls and seeing what happens,” Endfield is pretty much telling you not to. This is very clearly a system built around saving up, choosing banners carefully, and committing when you pull.

If you want the exact math and pity behavior, we have a full breakdown over on Icy Veins that goes way deeper into the numbers.

So… Is This Gacha Actually Fair?

It can be, if Endfield gives enough pulls per patch.

If the game lands somewhere around ~100 pulls per patch for active players, the system feels reasonable, especially if you plan around the 120-pull guarantee. If income ends up lower than that, the lack of pity carryover could start to sting, particularly for free-to-play players.

More than anything, this is a gacha that rewards patience over impulse pulling, and it is not very forgiving if you ignore that.
