The new main patch is arriving this week for Arknights: Endfield, bringing additional content to the Wuling region along with several upgrades for the AIC Factory system. You can expect a ton of content, including new minerals, production facilities, and crafting materials that will allow you to go and gather new resources and build new upgraded production lines all over the new Wuling regions.
A New Resource: Cuprium Ore
One of the biggest additions in the update is a new natural resource called Cuprium Ore. This reddish metal is unique to the Wuling region and acts as a foundational material for a few new factory production chains. Once processed through the AIC Factory, Cuprium can be refined into higher-tier crafting materials used to produce advanced items.
Some of the items that rely on Cuprium include:
- Yazhen Syringes [A]
- Cuprium Parts
- Cuprium Components
These materials will also play an important role in crafting new high-quality gear.
New Facility: Hydro Mining Rig
To support the new mining activities, the update introduces the Hydro Mining Rig. Unlike many other AIC facilities, this device operates using clean water rather than electricity. Because of this, it can be deployed more easily in remote areas, and it will help you extract minerals such as Cuprium Ore.
This should make resource gathering significantly more flexible when setting up mining operations across Wuling. Basically, it means that you will not have to drag your Electric Pylons all across Wuling. In some remote areas, you will be able to just plug the Hydro Mining Rigs to nearby water.
Fluid Production Arrives With Refining Unit Updates
The Refining Unit is also receiving a big upgrade through a new Fluid Mode. This new mode lets you finally produce fluid-based formulas that expand the factory’s crafting possibilities. One of the main outputs from this system is Cuprium that you can then turn into Cuprium Parts and eventually Cuprium Components.
These components are the main parts that you need in order to craft the new equipment. Some of the gear packs linked to this system include:
- Type 50 Yinglung Gear Pack
- MI Security Gear Pack
- Swordmancer Gear Pack
- Hot Work Gear Pack
- Pulser Labs Gear Pack
Managing Pollution With Water Treatment
Fluid production sadly comes with its own challenges. Some facilities will now generate Sewage and other waste byproducts during operation. To deal with this issue, the update introduces a Water Treatment Unit! This is a new facility that can purify these types of liquid waste like:
- Sewage
- Xircon Effluent
- Inert Xircon Effluent
On top of that, Sewage can also be reused when combined with Liquid Xiranite. You can use those two to produce SC Wuling Batteries. Basically, you will recycle waste into power for your Factory.
Conduits Improve Resource Transport
Another new addition is the Conduit system, designed to solve long-distance transportation issues between facilities. Conduits allow liquids to travel across terrain and obstacles by connecting an Inlet to an Outlet. Once a liquid is fed into the inlet, it automatically travels to the connected outlet.
This should make setting up production lines a lot easier, especially when you are dealing with longer distances or tricky terrain.
According to the developers, more AIC Factory features are already in development, so this update likely will not be the last time the system gets expanded. The Factory must always be running!
With new materials to mine and new tools to build with, it looks like Endministrators will have plenty to experiment with once the update goes live!
