Arknights: Endfield is about to introduce its first proper endgame activity with Umbral Monument, a permanent high-difficulty combat mode that will keep getting new series over time. In other words, this looks like the kind of content meant for players who are already done with the main progression and want something that actually pushes their teams.
Umbral Monument unlocks after finishing Chapter I Process II: Paving the Way and reaching Authority Level 30, so it is clearly aimed at accounts that are already somewhat built.

How It Works
Instead of being a single challenge, Umbral Monument is split into series, each with multiple stages. Every stage has a normal version first, then a much harder Agony difficulty once you clear it. The fights themselves are pretty strict:
- Team size: 4 operators max per battle
- Tacticals: Allowed in normal mode, disabled in Agony mode
- Stage info: Recommended levels and mechanics are visible before battle, along with detailed enemy intel to help you plan counters
- Timer: Enemies need to be killed within the time limit to clear the stage
Before entering, you can check recommended levels, mechanics, and enemy info, so the mode seems designed around figuring out the right counters instead of just brute forcing it.

Rewards and the Limited-Time Events
If you complete all stages of a series in normal mode, you obtain an engraved medal, and finishing Agony mode gives a trimmed engraved medal. First-time completions also reward:
- Mark of Perseverance
- Advanced Cognitive Carrier
- Arms INSP Set
- Protohedron
In addition, Monumental Etching is a limited-time event launching alongside each series. During that period, you can complete extra challenges inside Umbral Monument for rewards like Oroberyls, but once the event rotates, those rewards are gone.
The first series, Those Forsaken by the Land, launches February 12, with Inorganic Construct following on February 26.

Good Endgame Timing
Up to now, Endfield has not really had a piece of content that feels like a long-term difficulty check. Umbral Monument looks like the first mode built specifically for that role.
Right now is the perfect moment to add the first Edngame content. Players reached the end of the story, they are wrapping up exploration, their Operators are leveled and geared. They are ready for more!
You should definitely prepare multiple teams, since you might end up needing specific things for each stage, and prioritize claiming Monumental Etching rewards before they disappear.
This is the first real taste of Endfield’s endgame, and it looks like it will be both challenging and rewarding!
