Most eyes are currently on the new zones and operator banners, but one of the most important reveals from the recent dev communication for “Old Deep Water Dies, by Rising Tide It is Denied” might honestly be the AIC Factory updates.
And if you have spent any time building production lines in Endfield, you will know why that is a really important part of the update.
Building Anywhere (Yes, Anywhere)
One of the biggest changes is that construction is no longer locked to the Core AIC Area or Sub-PAC.
You can now build facilities anywhere on the map using your materials. That is a huge flexibility upgrade and removes one of the more awkward restrictions from earlier versions of the system. It gives you a massive freedom that you did not have before, and that freedom feels like a really nice addition.
As an example, if you are in the middle of nowhere and you need a combat facility, you can now craft it directly there. You will not need to travel back and forth to the AIC just for that anymore.
Zipline and Navigation Improvements

Ziplines are getting a few upgrades too:
- A mini-map now appears when you are on the zipline, and you can open the full map directly from it
- Shared ziplines are visually differentiated from your own
- You can remove shared facilities directly from the map screen
Small changes, but they make the whole Zipline setup and navigating much less confusing.
Power Transmission Gets Less Frustrating
Cable stretching was another common problem that many players agreed on. Relay Towers now connect from 90m up to 100m, and Electric Pylons from 40m to 50m. The overall maximum transmission distance does not change, but the extended cable tolerance should reduce those annoying “just barely out of range” moments where you miss one or two meters to reach your destination.
This does mean that you might want to go over your current setup and check what you can further optimize now that cables are a bit longer.
Power transmission also stays active during story dialogue now. It might sound small, but it does avoid your production from pausing because you decided to do your story.
Top View Mode
The top View mode is getting a few changes as well:
- Extended visible range
- ESC key support on PC
- Moving multiple facilities at once with mouse drag
- Direct move option added for controller players
If you are running larger production lines, the extended view distance alone could be a noticeable quality-of-life boost.
Smaller but Welcome Additions
A few extra things have also been adjusted:
- Clearer placement restriction messages
- A new Quick Stash filter for sprayable fluids
- A collectible “Factory Simulation” engraved medal for completing simulations
Nothing huge, but those are all small but meanignfull quality-of-life changes.
The AIC Factory is one of the main systems in Endfield. These improvements prove that the developers are paying attention to player feedback and are actively fixing everything that could be a problem in the long-run.
And for a system as central as the AIC Factory, that is exactly what it needed.
