Best Way to Mine Cuprium Ore in the New Wuling Area in Endfield

Arknights: Ednfield Hydro mining rigs Wuling Endmin

With the 1.1 update for Arknights: Endfield, you can now explore the new sub-zone in the Wuling area, and along with the new location also comes a new resource to gather called Cuprium Ore! However, mining it works a bit differently from all the previous resources we had, since you will not be able to use your usual Electric Mining Rigs on it.

To extract Cuprium Ore, you need to use a new machine called the Hydro Mining Rig. If you do not have access to it yet, it simply means you need to progress your main story, as it becomes available after completing the new story chapter introduced in version 1.1.

Once the new story chapter is completed, you gain access to the Hydro Mining Rigs, and those are required to mine Cuprium Ore deposits found in the new Wuling sub-zone.

There are currently two mining spots where these rigs can be placed.

Efficient Setup for the First Cuprium Ore Site

As always with Endfield, players are testing the most efficient ways to mine Ores and optimize their Factory, so it did not take long for some people to figure it out and share it on social media.

The first mining location is placed right next to a water source, making it relatively easy to set up an efficient extraction layout. At this spot, you can place six Hydro Mining Rigs in total, and it turns out that you do not need a pump for every rig.

The best setup looks like this:

  • Pull your electricity up to the spot (you need it to power the Fluid Pumps)
  • Place 6 Hydro Mining Rigs on the available nodes
  • Use 2 Fluid Pumps placed next to the water
  • Each pump can supply three mining rigs
  • Use splitters to divide the water flow into three directions from each pump

The main challenge with this location is power. It can be a bit annoying to get it all the way there, but depending on how you set up your power lines in Wuling so far, you should be able to pull it from the Hub down rather easily. Once the pumps are running, they will supply enough water for all six Hydro Mining Rigs when connected through splitters.

More Cuprium Ore on a Second Spot

You will then need to extend your electricity network all the way to the second mining site as well to power the Fluid Pumps there. The second site is not exactly near the water, and you will have to use the new Inlet and Outlet facilities to get the water from the nearby spot up to the mining rigs.

You will only need one Fluid pump in the water, linked to the Inlet. Then, next to the Mining spot, you put the Outlet and link it to the Hydro Mining Rigs.

With this, the first Cuprium Ore locations can be fully operational with minimal setup, making it a fairly efficient early layout for farming the new resource until you gain access to more!
