How to Unlock Outpost and Level Them Fast in Arknights: Endfield

Jaym0's Avatar by Jaym0

Outposts are one of those systems Arknights: Endfield never fully explains, and because of that, a lot of players accidentally fall behind without realizing why. You unlock one Outpost automatically, assume the rest will come naturally, and move on. But the problem is that most of them only unlock through side content.

Missing the other Outposts will eventually slow your entire account down, from production and Stock Bills gain, to Regional bonuses.

What Outposts Do

Think of Outposts as mini factory hubs that work alongside your main PAC. They generate Stock Bills, allow you to split your productions between your main PAC’s building space and your sub-pacs, and they feed directly into Regional Development.

They also act as teleport points and power nearby pylons, but their real value is long-term efficiency. The earlier you unlock them, the faster everything else scales.

All Outpost Locations and How to Unlock Them

After the first mandatory Outpost, the game stops holding your hand. The rest of the Outposts only unlock after completing region-specific side quests that appear later than expected. If you do not regularly check your quest log and map, it is very easy to finish a region and still miss factory locations.

That is why many players reach midgame wondering why Stock Bills feel tight, production feels cramped, and Regional Development lags behind.

Once you reach the Main Mission “Valley Reboot” and you unlock your Main Hub, you will have the possibility to unlock your Outposts.

Valley IV – 1.0

  • Refugee Camp Outpost
    • Requirements: Unlocks via the “Building an Outpost” exploration quest
    • Location: Valley Pass – Refugee Camp
  • Infra-Station Outpost
    • Requirements: Complete the Main Quest “Cross the Science Park” and the exploration quest “Outpost: Infra-Station”
    • Location: Originium Science Park – Infra-Station
  • Reconstruction HQ Outpost
    • Requirements: Complete the Main Quest “Eve of Battle” and the exploration quest “Outpost: Reconstruction HQ”
    • Location: Power Plateau – Planned Construction Area

These are the most commonly missed because their quests unlock later. You might not see them the first time you enter those zones, so make sure to come back after reaching the proper part in the story to grab the side quests there.

Wuling Region

It is important to note that AIC Factories and Outposts of each region work independently. The Wuling outposts are not linked to the ones in the Valley. However, you can transfer materials from one region to another once you increase the regional level.

  • Wuling Core AIC
    • This is your main PAC in the Wuling region
    • Requirements: Complete the Main Quest “A Breeze Away”
    • Location: Wuling City
  • Sky King Flats Outpost
    • Requirements: Complete the Main Quest “Where Danger Sleeps”
    • Location: Jingyu Valley – Sky King Flats

Outpost Levels, Prosperity, and Regional Development

Every Outpost starts at Level 1 and currently caps at Level 4. To level them up, you need Outpost Prosperity Points, and this can only be earned by trading goods. The goods you can trade are basically the stuff you can craft through your AIC. This means that the amount you can trade will heavily depend on the amount you can craft.

Once you hit a level’s prosperity cap, a short mission unlocks, and once you complete it, the Outpost levels up. Keep in mind that Prosperity resets for the next tier, and you will have to keep trading.

Each level also:

  • increases Stock Bill capacity
  • expands what you can trade
  • unlocks more Area Defense challenges

And every Outpost level feeds into Regional Development. This grants bonuses like better ore quality, higher Stock Bill caps, and more infrastructure flexibility.

The Fastest Way to Max Outposts

There are not ten different ways you can level up an Outpost, and that is why you need to pay attention to a few things.

  • Use the right Operators
    • Operators have traits (Faction, Hobbies, Expertise), and matching them to an Outpost activates dispatch bonuses. When you see traits highlighted in yellow, that is free efficiency.
    • These bonuses directly increase:
      • Stock Bills earned
      • Prosperity gained per trade
  • Trade smart, not more
    • Prosperity scales with item value, not raw quantity
    • High-value items like Buck Capsules are ideal because they give excellent Prosperity returns, and they are still usable if you do not trade all of them
  • Best materials to craft and trade
    • Buck Capsule in general, but once you can, craft the Buck Capsule [A] and trade those as they give the most
    • HC Valley Battery – They are a valuable source for trading. However, make sure first that you keep enough to keep your factories running. No one wants the whole region to be out of power

Early on, Origocrust is fine, but do not dump your entire stock. Trade in bits every day, and move on to higher-value goods as soon as you can.

You also do not want to ignore Area Defense. These are challenges that unlock inside Outposts, contribute to progression, and improve prosperity scaling. If you complete higher challenges, it means better Outpost efficiency. It is easy to forget they exist, but they matter.

Unlocking and leveling all Outposts early has a much bigger impact than it first appears. It frees up valuable space in your main PAC, stabilizes your Stock Bill income, and speeds up Regional Development. Once you reach Wuling, you will need your Regional Development to be at least level 11 if you want to have access to the proper material exchange functions between regions.

Over time, this makes progression far more efficient. Outposts are not just optional side content, but something you really want to invest some time and goods in!
