Is the New Protocol Pass Worth Buying for Tangtang and Rossi?

Protocol Pass: Dark Currents

Gryphline just posted on their socials details on the new Protocol Pass coming for the new Arknights: Endfield update, and it includes some juicy new information about the two weapons coming with it!

Home Longing

Up first is one of the two new Handcannons, Home Longing.

Home Longing is an Agility-scaling Handcannon designed for the upcoming Cryo Caster, Tangtang. For its Secondary stat, it boost Cryo Damage. Its skill, Suppression: Olden Moon, further increases Attack. Additionally, after the wielder casts a combo skill, their battle skill deals increased Cryo and Nature Damage for a certain duration. So after Tangtang’s used her RIVER, TO ME! combo skill and deploys a Whirlpool, she’ll be set to use her IMA WAVERIDAAH! battle skill to perform a much more powerful hit.

Those looking to find alternative applications for this weapon, due to skipping Tangtang or acquiring Tangtang’s Signature weapon, will find this weapon works wonderfully for Fluorite as her new Best in Slot weapon. Fluorite has lacked an Agility-scaling 6-star Handcannon, or even a Handcannon that doesn’t involve interacting with Arts Reactions. This weapon gives Fluorite the best of both worlds!

For those looking to pre-farm the Essence for this weapon, its three targets are: Agility, Cryo DMG Boost, and Suppression. You can acquire Essences matching these three targets at: The Hub, Originium Science Park, and Origin Lodespring.

Glorious Memory

Next is one of the new Swords, Glorious Memory.

Glorious Memory is an Agility-scaling Sword designed for the upcoming Physical Guard, Rossi. For its Secondary stat, it boosts Critical Rate. Its skill, Twilight: Lingering Glow, increases Attack. Additionally, when the wielder’s skill applies Vulnerability, the damage dealt during the next ultimate cast within a certain duration is increased. For Rossi this means that, after she’s used her Moment of Blazing Shadow combo skill, she’ll be able to deal far more increased damage with her “Razorclaw” Ambuscade ultimate.

For alternative users, both Endministrator and Chen Qianyu can make excellent use of this weapon, as its effect is very generic. While Endministrator does have a Signature 6-star weapon to use, Chen Qianyu has been lacking in the 6-star arsenal department. This makes it an excellent pick for her if you’re skipping Rossi‘s banner or going to acquire Rossi‘s Signature weapon.

For those who are interested in pre-farming the Essence for this weapon right away, the three targets are: Agility, Critical Rate Boost, and Twilight. You can acquire these Essences from Origin Lodespring and Wuling City.

Final Notes

Gryphline revealed with this post that the Protocol Pass Weapons featured in prior Protocol Passes will continue to feature in future Protocol Passes. If you’re interested in acquiring previously missed weapons, or want to increase the potentials of one of them even faster, this is a great solution available to players!
