Arknights: Endfield Version 1.1 is almost here, and it comes with two new operators, each bringing different team strategies and gameplay mechanics. Tangtang arrives first on March 12, and after that, Rossi will follow in Phase 2 on March 29.
Both operators will add new combo mechanics, debuffs, and team synergies, and you might be wondering who you should pull for?
Now that launch is well behind us, you might not obtain as many pull chances as you did up until now, so it is good to weigh the pros and cons before you start pulling for characters you may not need.
Tangtang the Cryo Handcannon Caster

Tangtang is a Cryo Caster who excels at crowd control, Cryo debuff application, and supporting Cryo-focused teams. Her kit is all about creating Whirlpools that can later basically be converted into Cryo Waterspouts, dealing damage over time, restoring skill points, and boosting Cryo damage for the entire team.
Her ultimate ability is particularly unique, freezing enemies in time for five seconds. This will be extremely useful because it can completely shut down bosses or protect teammates during dangerous fights.
Tangtang works really well with operators such as:
These teams benefit from consistent Cryo debuff stacking, crowd control, and Cryo damage amplification. You only want to pull Tangtang if:
- You like Cryo teams
- You want strong crowd control
- You play Yvonne or Last Rite as the main DPS
If you do not plan to build Cryo-focused teams, you do not really need Tangtang. The chances for future characters to be Cryo are pretty low, given we already have Yvonne and Last Rite for now, so if you do not already have those, Tangtang will not be extremely useful for your teams.
Rossi the Physical Sword Guard

Rossi is a Physical Guard designed to deal heavy single-target damage, and she will be pretty useful for rapidly stacking Vulnerability. This means that she will increase the damage enemies take.
Her kit revolves around triggering follow-up attacks whenever enemies already have Vulnerability applied, and that can massively increase physical and fire damage on top of also applying additional damage over time. Rossi also benefits heavily from teams that can apply Arts debuffs such as Cryo, Fire, Electric, or Nature. Those will power up her combo mechanic. Her ultimate deals very high single-target fire damage, making her especially strong in boss encounters.
Rossi works particularly well with:
You can play Rossi with Laevatain, but keep in mind that she might consume Arts debuffs that Laevatain would want to keep, and their combos do not really synergize. Basically, you want to pull Rossi if:
- You play Physical or mixed Physical and Elemental teams
- You want strong single-target damage
- You need fast Vulnerability stacking
But you can skip Rossi if you prefer elemental-specific teams like Cryo or Electric.
Tang Tang vs Rossi – Who Should You Choose?
The choice between Tangtang and Rossi mostly depends on what type of team you want to build, the other Operators you already have, and the upcoming Operators that will come after.
Tangtang has crowd control, Cryo amplification, and team utility, and that makes her an excellent support option for Cryo teams.
Rossi, on the other hand, can deal high single-target damage and stack vulnerability, making her better for Physical or Physical-Fire teams focused on burst damage.
Since the two operators support different playstyles, you should definitely choose based on your current roster or the type of team you want to build in the future.
Keep also in mind that the next Operators will most likely be Mi Fu and Zhuang Fangyi, and neither Tangtang nor Rossi will most likely be much of use for them since they will probably be Electric. If you plan to pull any of those, you might be better off saving your Oroberyls for now.
