With Ashes of Creation’s Alpha Two Phase Three quickly approaching (August 26, 2025), a recent announcement was made regarding what the server structure will be on day one. Previously, it was very much assumed that there would be one “mega” server, similar to how the previous phase was, but it looks like those plans changed.
After initially communicating the plans of Phase Three launching with a single realm – Shol (US East), the community made it very clear that they were not happy with this decision. The goal of the team was to primarily funnel all players into a single realm to focus on dynamic gridding testing and ultimately focusing on handling high numbers of players on a single realm. However, all of the testers over in EU have been patiently waiting for their own EU-based realm to return, and after continuing to communicate this, Intrepid Studios made the change.
Phase Three Server Information
As of today, the plans are that Phase Three of Ashes of Creation will be starting off with two 24/7 realms, which includes Shol (US East) and Lotharia (EU West). Players will now be able to choose the server that makes the most sense for them based on their geographical location, supporting their overall gaming experience as they test.
During the first few weeks of Phase Three’s launch, the team expects to conduct significant testing with dynamic gridding systems in order to further harden the technology. This may result in unique tests where populations from both servers are asked to assist by creating characters on opposite realms to properly test population limits and bandwidth.
Additionally, the team expects that there will be a VERY large update that Phase Three brings to Ashes of Creation, so be sure to keep your eyes out for when it’s available, as you’ll want to make sure you get this downloaded as soon as possible so you can start grinding your new characters!

How to Start Playing Ashes of Creation
If you’re interested in playing Ashes of Creation, then create an account here and visit the “shop” section of the Ashes of Creation website to purchase your key. Upon purchase, you will receive access to play the rest of Alpha Two, along with a key for Beta One and Beta Two. Additionally, you’ll have access to start playing on the PTR for additional testing.
Additionally, you will receive one month of gameplay for Ashes of Creation upon launch, and $15 worth of embers (in-game marketplace credits). We hope to see you soon in Verra!
