Borderlands 4 is celebrating returning Vault Hunters with a special franchise loyalty reward. Players who have logged into previous Borderlands titles using a SHiFT Account can earn the “Paint the Town Crimson” ECHO-4 Drone Skin for Borderlands 4. This cosmetic is a really nice nod to your years of adventures across Pandora and beyond.
Gearbox even left a message to fans:
“We’ve been humbled to see players returning to loot and shoot in the Borderlands universe for over a decade, and we’re thrilled to see so many of those longtime fans on Kairos!“
How to Claim the Drone Skin
In order to obtain the cosmetic you need to follow the next few steps:
- Already have a free SHiFT Account
- It needs to be the same account you played previous Borderlands Games on
- You can create a new account, but you will have to log into an old Borderlands title using that new account before you can obtain the Skin
- Check your previous games
- Log into the same SHiFT Account that you used in any of the following titles:
- Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition
- Borderlands 2
- Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
- Borderlands 3
- Log into the same SHiFT Account that you used in any of the following titles:
- Log into Borderlands 4
- The “Paint the Town Crimson” ECHO-4 Drone Skin should appear automatically in your Reward Center under Inventory → Equipment.
If it does not show up immediately, simply exit and re-enter the game.
The offer is valid until 11:59 PM ET on December 31, 2030, and is limited to one reward per SHiFT Account. Keep in mind that you need a verified SHiFT Account, a copy of Borderlands 4, and ownership of at least one of the previous titles in the franchise.
Even if it is just a cosmetic, the ECHO-4 Drone Skin is a fun tribute for longtime players and a reminder of the franchise’s history. Plus, it is always satisfying to get something extra just for sticking with a series you love.
