Quick Navigation
Skill Trees
This Maximum Overdrive build heavily splits its skill points between the Remote Agent and People Person skill trees to access powerful Overdrive buffs deep in each respective tree. It makes use of the Peacebreaker Cannons Action Skill paired with the Instinto Augment which allows it to keep the Overdrive Trait active for as long as possible. This leaves Volatile Hollowpoints as its only available capstone.

The skill distribution aims for powerful boosts to all Overdrive effects at bottom of both trees. On your way to these bonuses, many additional effects like Critical Hit Chance, Gun Damage, and Fire Rates will be pathed through, which then end up adding onto Overdrive for amplified effects.
Playstyle
Maximum Overdrive rewards aggressive gameplay, allowing you to prolong the duration of your Peacekeeper Cannons and attached Overdrive effect through Critical Hits and killing enemies. This can be achieved by utilizing the build’s bonus Movement Speed, Fire Rates, and Pinpoint Accuracy to quickly move around and dispatch enemies at close range.
You will feel almost unstoppable when Overdrive is active, but you should always pay special attention to its remaining duration to not be caught with your pants down. Due to the use of the Dancer Class Mod, your Overdrive effect will end immediately as your Peacekeeper Cannons expire, and you should play very cautiously until you can get them back online.
Skill Breakdown
A brief breakdown of the build’s key skills:
- Soltado – The build’s most important skill, doubling the power of all Overdrive effects.
- Jaque – The other primary boost to Overdrive effects, and the reason for investing heavily into the People Person skill tree.
- Temerario – Provides a huge bonus to Gun Damage for every second that Overdrive is active, but will lower Gun Handling at an equal rate.
- Al Centro – Improves Gun Handling over time while Overdrive is active. This quickly offsets the loss of Temerario and turns into pinpoint precision.
- Juerga – Increases the duration of your Peacebreaker Cannons every time you score a Critical Hit. This allows you to maintain Overdrive almost indefinitely as long as you have something to shoot at.
- Brain Dump – Provides you with a passive source of Critical Hit Chance to make it easier to cut through enemies. If you manage to be able to reach a high Critical Hit chance without this, you can move these points into El Soldado for even more Gun Damage instead.
Specializations
When spending your specialization points for this build there are two core goals to consider: raising your Gun Damage further, and bringing your Action Skill Damage in line with your guns. However, as the specialization passives synergize better with the latter, you should prioritize Action Skill Damage first.
To spend your point efficiently you should invest into the Sharpshooter and Runner trees to unlock the Daredevil tree and then invest a further 20 points to unlock all Daredevil passives. Any remaining points can be invested into Brute and Killer for Gun Damage and Critical Hit Damage respectively.

The core three perks you should pick up first are:
- Now With Caffeine to allow you to remove most of your Action Skill cooldown;
- I Am A Gun to boost your Action Skill with your Gun Damage;
- A Honed Mind to expand the Critical Hit potential of your Action Skill.
Luckily these three perks are all available after investing 20 points into Daredevil, however there is no easy fourth option available. If you have specialization points to spare you can choose Overkill or Riddle You This as your final passive.
Your fourth perk can be picked purely based on your personal preference. If you have the points to heavily invest into the Killer tree, Overkill can provide a small damage boost, otherwise you can choose your preferred emergency option of Sturdy Stuff, Lead or Alive, or Down But Not Out. If you find yourself short of points, you can pick up Bullet Train as an alternative instead.
Gear and Manufacturers
Due to this build’s foundation being a range of different buffs, you have a lot of flexibility in your choice of guns, although those that excel at close-combat are preferred. Legendaries are preferred for some of the build’s utility slots, and greatly increase its effectiveness.
Guns
Shotguns and SMGs are your ideal weapon types for this build, leaning into the high fire rate of the build, and allowing you to get up close and personal with enemies. However, as the build eats through ammo quickly, having a backup Assault Rifle is also highly recommended.
For your gun manufacturer you should try to pick one that synergizes with your Enhancement. Jakobs, for its high damage and Ricochet effects, and Daedalus, for its Ammo Regeneration, are the best two options.
In most cases, purple guns will be just as effective as Legendaries, but there are some Legendary options that fit perfectly into the build:
- Anarchy – This Shotgun can automatically replenish ammo when killing enemies while buffing its damage in the process, making it a great mobbing choice for the build.
- Hot Slugger – A hard-hitting Jakobs Shotgun that gains damage on kill.
- Bod – A great all-round gun. Will provide one Shotgun + one other random weapon attachment.

Ordnance
As this build excels at mobbing more than bossing, a Throwing Knife with Penetrator Augment is your best choice of Ordnance to help pump up your boss damage. If you do not have one available, any explosive Ordnance is a good alternative as you have access to huge Splash Damage from Barrage.
Class Mod
The Dancer Class Mod is very important for the build, providing a further 100% boost to your Overdrive trait. If possible, try to use one with the Soltado passive, as this will free up a Skill Point that you can move into Brain Dump.
For your Class Mod passives you should look for generic Gun Damage and Critical Hit Damage to supplement whichever weapon you prefer playing.
Shield
There are no Legendary Shields that are useful for this build. Instead you should look for a purple Shield with the Siphon passive to give you Overshield while dealing damage. As an alternative option you can also look for the Absorb passive for a chance to turn enemy bullets into ammo.
Enhancements
Your Enhancement choice will depend on what gun manufacturer you have decided to use. If you have managed to pick up guns with Jakobs-licensed parts then an Enhancement with the Piercer and Leaper effects will allow you to maximize your damage through ricochets. A Daedalus Enhancement with the Bullet Fabricator and Backup Plan effects is also a good choice if you would rather not play Jakobs guns.
To round out your Enhancement’s passive stats, Critical Damage, Damage, and Magazine Size are your three best options and will work well with all gun types.
Repkit
You will want the Triple Bypass Repkit for this build. Since it can store 3 charges you can trigger all of them in quick succession so your Now With Caffeine passive will immediately remove your Action Skill cooldown. If you do not have access to this Repkit, any purple with 2 charges is the best alternative.
Firmware
This build is flexible when it comes to Firmware choices and the best option can change based on your choice of guns.
The 3-piece Deadeye bonus is always a great starting choice for any setup, which can also be paired with the 2-piece Trickshot bonus. However, if you are primarily using SMGs and Assault Rifles you can swap these two around.
Feel free to experiment with other Firmware options to synergize with your guns!
Quick Tips
- Try to stay in combat to maintain your Action Skill Duration.
- Mix up your weapon types to get more mileage from your ammo.
- Use your Repkit to quickly bypass your Action Skill Cooldown.
