Welcome to our Vex Blood Shot guide! This build takes advantage of Vex’s Blood Shot ability, which deals bonus damage based on her current Health to deal huge damage to enemies. Through the use of the Undead Eye Class Mod, this build is able to apply this bonus damage to almost every one of your shots to obliterate enemies.

Quick Navigation
Skill Trees
This Blood Shot build heavily focuses on the Vexcalation skill tree, deep down into the right fork to grab the Blood Shot skill. Incarnate is the Action Skill of the build, alongside the Heartpiercer capstone and Witchy Trigger Finger augment, to provide supportive damage boosts and magazine enhancement.

The other skill choices within the build aim to maximize passive Critical Hit chance while also improving a multitude of damage sources. One of the build’s unique strengths is its ability to benefit from Gun Damage, Skill Damage, Kinetic Damage, and Maximum Health, all of which provide multiplicative damage scaling with one another.
Playstyle
This build’s gameplay is centered around utilizing loosely-named Sniper Rifles with high fire rates in order to take advantage of the static damage boost provided by Blood Shot. Through the use of the Undead Eye Class Mod and a high passive Critical Hit Chance, you will have most of your hits naturally empowered by Blood Shot as you gun down enemies.
As part of the Blood Shot build, you will also have access to a powerful Lifesteal package and the means to sustain your ammo consumption. This allows you to stay in the action and continue taking on enemies to your heart’s content.
Skill Breakdown
A brief breakdown of the build’s key skills:
- Blood Shot – The build’s namesake and core source of damage. While the skill is rarely triggered directly, the Undead Eye class mod continually makes use of it.
- Target Prescience and Keen Mind – Provide an essential passive Critical Hit Chance that both boosts Blood Shot’s damage and allows it to trigger more often.
- Witchy Trigger Finger – Alters your Incarnate Action Skill, allowing you to make use of your Eldritch Blast to refill even the most Ammo-hungry guns.
- Fell Inscriptions – One of the few ways to boost your character’s Health, further improving your Blood Shot’s damage.
Specializations
This build scales its damage both off of your Health and your Gun Damage, making the Survivor and Brute trees your priority for specializations. If you have more specialization points to spare, you may wish to invest into the Sharpshooter trees so that you can invest any remaining points into Killer for Critical Hit Damage, due to diminishing returns on your core two trees.

The three perks you should definitely pick up are:
- The Best Defense for a large passive damage buff.
- Riddle You This to significantly boost your high-fire-rate weapons.
- Bullets Are Scared Of Me improves your defensive options.
Your fourth perk can be picked purely based on your personal preference. If you have the points to heavily invest into the Killer tree, Overkill can provide a small damage boost, otherwise you can choose your preferred emergency option of Sturdy Stuff, Lead or Alive, or Down But Not Out.
Gear and Manufacturers
The build revolves around the niche subset of Kinetic damage and Sniper Rifles. Furthermore, it only truly shines when a high fire rate is also present. While the build does have some room for personal preference, it is largely dependent on several specific Legendaries.
Guns
In order to be effective, this build specifically requires guns that are both Sniper Rifles and capable of firing quickly. While there are a few purple Sniper Rifles that fit that description, these two Legendary weapons check both boxes exceptionally well:
- Bod – This weapon is a Sniper Rifle on technicality alone, as it is also categorized as a Shotgun, Pistol, SMG, and Assault Rifle. However, this means it also inherits the property of those other gun types as well, providing a high rate of fire and multiple projectiles, which is exactly what the build needs. Try to get one with CoV Licensed parts as an added bonus for Enhancement synergies.
- Finnity XXX-L – A minigun parading as a Sniper Rifle. While the weapon only comes with the Incendiary Element, it will also have CoV Licensed parts that allow it to keep shooting without consuming ammo while overheating.
You may fill your third weapon slot with a Noisy Cricket if you require a good source of splash damage to deal with pesky Vile enemies. However, the niche weapon requirements for the build leave no valid choices to fill your fourth slot.

Ordnance
As a gun-based build, a Throwing Knife with Penetrator Augment is your best Ordnance choice to further improve your boss-killing capabilities. However, this is purely optional due to the high amount of damage already present with this build. Alternatively you can pick up any Ordnance with high splash damage to deal with Vile enemies if you are not using a Noisy Cricket.
Class Mod
Undead Eye is the only Class Mod option for this build. Its passive effect to trigger Blood Shot makes it paramount to the build, with everything else being built around having the Class Mod. It is only able to roll 4 different skills, and you should prioritize getting 5 points into Blood Shot with any remaining points going towards Blood is Power.
On the Class Mod’s passives you should look for Sniper Rifle Damage, and Gun Damage if using Finnity XXX-L. When using Bod, any kind of Weapon Damage suffices as it counts as every weapon type.
Shield
As the build makes heavy use of Health, Lifesteal and Health Regeneration, there is no defensive need for Shields or Armor. Instead, you should use Shields that benefit your Maximum Health as much as possible. The Legendary Shield Timekeeper’s New Shield is ideal for this, as it trades away all shielding capacities for bonus Health and damage reduction instead. Any purple shield with the Healthy passive will also provide a nice 25% maximum health bonus.
Enhancements
Your choice of Enhancement will largely depend on what weapon and licensed parts you have been able to pick up. If you have access to CoV parts then a CoV enhancement with the Ventilator and Duct Tape effects are both great for the benefits they provide while overheating. Otherwise, assuming you are using a Bod, you should look for a Daedalus enhancement with the Bullet Fabricator effect to have a chance to refill your ammo.
For your Enhancement’s passive stats, Sniper Rifle Damage and Sniper Rifle Critical Hit Damage are the two universally best options. If you are using a Bod you can also look for bonus damage to other weapon types. With Finnity XXX-L you would instead want Enhancements that improve the Fire-Rate of the weapon.
Repkit
Repkits provide an on-demand way to activate Blood Shot, but they are being overshadowed by Undead Eye‘s ability to continually trigger it. With this in mind, any purple Repkit you can get your hands on will work with this build. That being said, there are also two Legendaries that may be useful depending on what the rest of your gear looks like:
- Triple Bypass – Provides you with 3 charges, in addition to having a 30% chance to replenish a charge on kill. This is a useful boost if you do not have access to Bod or Finnity XXX-L.
- War Paint – Can provide a 30% boost to your Fire Rate. While this will make you run out of ammo faster, this effect can be negated if you have managed to pick up CoV Licensed parts and Enhancements.
Firmware
3-Piece of Deadeye Firmware should be your highest priority for its stacking boost to Critical Damage. For your remaining 2 Firmware slots you may freely choose between High Caliber, Trick Shot, and God Killer.
Quick Tips
- Bod’s Sniper Rifle mode deals significantly more damage than its other settings.
- Take full advantage of Finnity XXX-L’s ability to not consume ammo when overheating.
- Lifesteal is your primary means of survival, so do not stop shooting!
- Use a Repkit if you need a guaranteed Critical Hit.
With all these pieces combined, you are now ready to take down hordes of enemies and even the toughest bosses!
