Inna Exploding Palm Monk BiS Gear, Gems, and Paragon Points
Below, we detail the items and gems that you should use for your Inna Exploding Palm Monk in Diablo 3 and why. We also list your paragon points and Kanai's Cube items. Updated for patch 2.6.8 and Season 20.

The build incorporates the complete Inna's Mantra set, taking six of the seven available pieces and opening up the jewelry for the Endless Walk set and its damage multiplication bonuses. Rolls-wise, this Mystic Ally-centric playstyle takes good advantage of Cooldown Reduction and skill damage affixes. Note that depending on your preferred spec — pure Mystic Ally pet build, or the Exploding Palm variation — you will have to adjust skill rolls, taking Mystic Ally % on your chest and shoulders for the former or Exploding Palm % on the helm and boots for the latter. Both Crit stats alongside Dexterity and Vitality are sought after on Inna's Hold, and Crit Chance is needed on Inna's Radiance. Mystic Ally %, Dexterity and Vitality are desired on Inna's Vast Expanse. Inna's Favor and Inna's Temperance can be dedicated purely to Toughness. Finally, high damage range, good Dexterity and Mystic Ally % rolls, as well as Vitality are the best stats on Inna's Reach.
Not skipping on any of the six set pieces required to obtain the full Inna set bonus allows you to split between offense and defense in the jewelry slots. One of the 2.4 reworks, the Endless Walk set — The Compass Rose ring and The Traveler's Pledge amulet — adds a unique mechanic that slowly increases your damage by up to a 100% if you remain stationary, and drains it away and increases your damage reduction while moving. This dynamic fits the Inna playstyle, as you Dashing Strike to the next big fight, Cyclone Strike for density and use Way of the Hundred Fists in one spot for extended periods of time (see this build's skills page for more information).
The remaining ring slot will be taken by Convention of Elements. The ring cycles shape the entire playstyle of the build, as the multiplicative nature of the elemental bonuses is responsible for a huge chunk of your damage potential.
The Crudest Boots are a crucial piece for the setup, doubling your Mystic Ally summons and thus doubling the effectiveness of the Inna 6-piece set bonus, as well as several passive and active effects of the skill itself (the Air Ally Spirit regeneration, the Fire Ally damage bonuses, etc.)
Two items have been introduced in Patch 2.4 to assist the Mystic Ally playstyle with additional damage and survivability; they have identical skill conditions and 5-second duration. The offensive item is Bindings of the Lesser Gods, a bracer that amplifies Mystic Ally damage against enemies affected by Cyclone Strike; the defensive item is Lefebvre's Soliloquy, reducing damage taken by up to 50% after casting Cyclone Strike.
To help you with farming the gear you need for your builds, we have two very useful guides that you can access by clicking the links below: a Salvage Guide to help you quickly check whether or not you can safely salvage a piece of gear and a Legendary Farming Guide to help you efficiently farm legendaries and set items.
Bane of the Trapped is a potent source of additional damage, as it is its own multiplier in your total damage calculation. The gem will be procced by Water Ally and its own level 25 property when in melee range, where the Inna Monk fights by default.
Pain Enhancer is synergistic with the density pulling nature of the Inna build, and helps you compensate for the inferior two hander attack rate of Inna's Reach with a massive attack speed bonus from the clumped up, bleeding enemies.
Introduced in Season 4, Bane of the Stricken takes a firm spot in the EP variation jewelry sockets. Building up your damage multiplicatively in prolonged fights and with a level 25 bonus specifically targeting Rift Guardians, this gem is designed to assist AoE heavy builds in their struggle against single target, high HP enemies. The Inna EP Monk is a textbook example of such a build, and makes good use of this gem.

The Fist of Az'Turrasq increases the on-death explosion damage of Exploding Palm by 300%; as a true multiplier to the base damage of the skill, it essentially quadruples the EP variation's primary source of burst.
Occupying the armor slot of the EP variation, Gungdo Gear has a simple, but devastating effect: it applies Exploding Palm to enemies caught within the radius of a detonated Exploding Palm, producing the signature screen-wide destruction.
During GR progression, the jewelry slot of all outlined Inna variations will be taken up by Unity, as it provides you with unparalleled damage reduction when paired with another on the follower, plus an immortality item for him (i.e. Enchanting Favor).
The Kanai's Cube can be used for much more than simply extracting Legendary powers from items. Please refer to our Kanai's Cube guide for more information.
For more information regarding followers, we advise you to read our Follower Guide, which contains detailed advice for choosing the skills and the gear of your follower.
