Knock Back is a movement-impairing debuff that instantly pushes the target away from the caster. It can be very helpful for creating distance or interrupting enemy skills.

Knock Down, on the other hand, is a movement-impairing debuff that makes the target fall to the ground, temporarily paralyzing them. It can be very helpful for disabling enemies, similar to stunning them.

How to Apply Knock Back and Knock Down

Both can be applied by the player and the enemies. Some skills, items, and passives may also affect or cause Knock Back / Knock Down.

How to Recognize Knock Back and Knock Down

The Knock Back effect makes a character move away from the source of the attack, as if the target is pushed back by a strong force.

When a character is Knocked Down, they will fall to the ground and then slowly stand up. During this time, they are exposed, and not able to act.

Additional Information About Knock Back and Knock Down

Knock Back is a useful way to get out of a difficult situation, or to increase damage dealt, as some skills or passives will boost the damage done to enemies affected by it.

The Knock Down effect can either be very helpful or harmful, depending on who is affected by it. When a character is knocked down, they have to go through a long animation. During this time, they are helpless and cannot perform any action. This can be very annoying for the player, but very beneficial when used against enemies. Knock Down can be removed by Skills that make the character Unstoppable or Immune.
