Buying These FFXIV Glamours Costs More Than the Game Itself

Final Fantasy XIV now has three new outfits and some songs on the Online Store for players to purchase. The items arrived a week ahead of Patch 7.35, slated to launch on October 7.

These items commemorated the launch of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, which launched on multiple platforms on September 30. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles contains both the Classic PlayStation experience (with The War of the Lions translation) and an Enhanced Edition that includes voice acting, three difficulty options, and other quality-of-life changes.

What Are Final Fantasy XIV’s New Online Store Items?

Here are the new items that FFXIV players can purchase from the Online Store now, along with their prices. These glamours are based on three characters featured early on in Final Fantasy Tactics: Ramza Beoulve, Princess Ovelia, and Gaffgarion.

Despite metallic helm glamour options currently being sparse for Viera characters, Gaffgarion’s Burgeonet will appear on their heads. However, their ears are completely hidden, and players do not have a choice in the matter. Additionally, Ramza’s Coat also takes up both the body and legs slots. Plus, each Attire set can also be gifted to a friend, and each glamour piece comes with two dye channels for players to utilize.

The Final Fantasy Tactics Orchestrion Set contains five songs, though the set cannot be bought as a gift.

The Price of Glamour

However, the cost of the new Ivalice-inspired items is a combined $69 before taxes are applied. Ergo, buying the complete collection of new Online Store items costs almost $20 more than the price of the game they are inspired by. FF Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles has an introductory price of $49.99 on Steam, the Nintendo eShop, the PlayStation Store, and the Microsoft Store.
