Why precast Solar Wrath? I thought Lunar Strike makes 30k more dmg and regenerates 4 more AP right?

The reason for that is that Solar Wrath has a travel time and Lunar Strike does not, meaning that using Lunar Strike would pull the boss instantly. With Solar Wrath you can DoT while the projectile is flying.

Just wondering why mastery is so low down on the list? It seems important with Mastery: Starlight and Starsurge..

The answer to these questions is usually the same: "because that's just how it works out" (as determined by what results in the highest damage output, based on simulations).

How come your guide says only to use lunar strike at 4+ targets? Doesn't lunar strike become better at 2 targets and isn't it better at 1 target with empowerment?

I think the general comments introduction gets skipped by most. It clearly says " playing a Balance Druid in a raid environment and in Mythic+ dungeons.".

My Boomkin is my third toon. So I am only 105 after a week. But this is one of those times when what I find is NOT consistent with the guide - Stellar Flare is a huge mistake - unless you are undergeared and use it top open with  (which can be a challenge to manage Astral Power). It's not synergous with the play action of the character. I was thrilled to replace it with Chosen of Elune. My bottom 6 of 10 abilities are the 3 DOTs and initial casts. I am happy to focus on what works, while making sure I still have a playable spec for solo PvE

When it comes time for Progression Raiding, I will revisit this. But for now, I don't mark down the guide as wrong - just wrong for my game action right now.

P.S. I would LOVE to see a PVP version of the guide too - especially for PvP healers :)

P.P.S. I must be the only person in the game, that thinks you are all BATSHEET CRAZY taking Displacer Beast . I took Renewal and it has saved a wipe in Violet Hold an hour ago. Again, progression raiding may well require a different choice.

The guide is definitely, absolutely not written with leveling in mind whatsoever. You should certainly feel free to experiment and adapt as needed.

As for a PvP guide, we have something in the works. Can't promise anything but maybe soon.

Hey. I've updated the guide, it is indeed Lunar Strike at 2+ target, and also against 1 target for the purpose of using up Lunar Empowerment charges. Thanks for pointing it out!

After hitting level 19 with my artifact I got the second golden passive. Does this change the Tier 5 talent and the rotation during incarnation?

Stellar Flare is a recommended talent on the talents page, but is not mentioned at all on the rotation page.

Taken from the rotation page:

You should keep Moonfire Icon Moonfire and Sunfire Icon Sunfire up on any targets that will live longer than 6 seconds, and Stellar Flare Icon Stellar Flare on targets that will live longer than around 12 seconds.

Would it at all be possible to get a pawn string for this guide? I'm finding the default one lacking in prioritizing haste.

We generally stay well away from listing pawn strings or stat weights, since they can not only change depending on the person using them, but require a huge amount of maintenance, constantly. We'll see what we can do, but there are no promises.

I've checked some guides and outlaw rogue does provide us with stat weight(s) to work with. Would really love some!

Thanks

I would really like to know where Gapezilla got his 625 haste gems from. He is the druid who helped with this guide.

These are weights that are made specifically by the guide writer - Gapezilla is a reviewer, rather than a writer. The stat weights you see in other guides are made by writers, such as Furty or Wordup, that maintain their own guides and records of the class.

The armory tooltips have not updated, his gems do not actually give +625.

You are correct, I will double check why it is listed so high. There is perhaps a reason that we are missing, but it might also just be an oversight/error.

Will update in future as to why!

Stat weights need update from tuesday's patch on September13 . Weights are currently Int - Haste - Mastery - Crit - Versatility per AskMrRobot.com - Thanks

What is the reasoning behind this, other than another site having different weights? What in the patch on Sep. 13 happened that would change the weights?

I'm happy to ask our reviewer to take another look, but not because of "another site has it different".

if you're asking about specific stat weights, you really ought to just run your own sims with your own gear and get your own precise answer.  If you want precise weights because you want to know whether to use (say) an 850 mastery/vers piece or an 840 haste/crit piece, whatever generic weights AMR or whatever site gives you may not provide the right answer anyway.

anyway

what I came here to ask is whether moon and stars influence the opener at all; i.e. would we rather cast moonfire/sunfire/new moon during incarnation to generate the haste stacks, or cast them before and just begin with half/full moon

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
