Just a thought:

IF there is a mastery hard cap, then maybe it is desirable to reach it by mark of the trained soldier, that has been buffed (double value) with 7.1.5.

Maybe it's a feasible alternative in certain situations w/o consindering the possibility of any hard caps.

Also: The values in the spreadsheet provided should be out of date now since the numbers needed for 1% have been changed, right?

Yeah, we're currently discussing whether it's worth putting this in essentially. As you said, the values have changed for how much of the stat you need to actually reach a hard cap and, given the changes, is there even still a cap, basically. We'll update as we find more on it, but if so, yeah the neck wouldn't be a bad idea. You'd probably only do it if you're right under the cap though.

Just did the spreadsheet with the new numbers locally. Pic attached.

Cap would be 15k then.  Glancing at Scobomb from Method, the armory states he has ~9k mastery from gear (893 equipped). Even with the new nighthold-items I doubt we can comfortably reach the new cap value - even if, then not w/o neglecting other important facts like setbonuses or trinket effects.

Yeah, as it stands right now, putting the cap in as an attainable goal would just result in people getting confused. This might be something we revisit in 7.2, I reckon.

Hey!

Quick question on the legendary ranking: I got the chest, the wrists and the trousers.

I always assume for myth+ the combination of wrist and trousers with rend and tear are best.

For survivability though the chest is ranked higher, so in a raidfight, which two would I use? AND: Would I use Pulverize or still Rend and Tear?

Thanks

You are correct, unless you are really struggling to maintain your HP, in which case take the chest over the bracers.

Depends on what you need. Add control, DPS etc, you can still use the M+ setup. If you're progressing, you'll probably want the chest + legs.

The section under the tier 3 (lvl 45) talents has a link to Ysera's Gift that says it heals you for 3% of your max health every 5 seconds, so I'm assuming there's either a bug or they just haven't updated the information for the new patch. There seems to be an unpublished change to it since the tooltip in game now reads 1.5% of max health. If you are using the legendary Ekowraith, Creator of Worlds, then it should bump it up to 2.625% healing based on max health. I haven't been able to find information yet about the nerf, but it happened after 7.1.5 was released. Here's an image of the ingame tooltip from 27 January 2017.

I'm no expert, but if mastery's ttl is better until 15000 (according to the sheet above), why is the prio Versa >= Mastery instead of Mastery >= Versa?

Definitely possible that this was just overlooked! Will get it looked into, thanks :)

I believe it is because there are different types of damage taken - for example, Mastery doesn't do much to pure magic damage, while Vers affects both.

Hi, I'm level 85 and leveling right now but I'm really confuse of the stat weights my simcraft is producing. It says something like vers 14.4, crit 14, agi 0.20, mastery 0.26. 1.) Why is my mastery requirement so low and my crit so high? With the guide saying vers=>mastery and crit last 2.) With my agi weighing at 0.20, can i pursue a gear with the same ilvl with either vers/mastery/crit (in my case) but with int?

Definitely don't worry about stat weights while levelling. Simcraft was never created to be used for below-max-level testing. If you retest at 110, it will be a very different story.

Item level will be most important by far. You don't need to buy items unless you're specifically trying to skip some kind of content or so - as you quest, you'll get more than enough gear.

Find whatever you can that has the highest item level if you really need to buy gear.

So is there an exact mastery cap or number I should hit before investing all into Vers?

Essentially, no, unless you want to specifically gear for about 2 fights (tanking Tich adds and maybe Skorp adds).

Dumb question here: As far as stat priority goes... I mostly understand Vers>=Mas and it's what I shoot for. From what I see. Agi is not super important to prioritize with the passive amount you get on gear, so why is it suggested to get at least 1 +200 agi gem? Is it because of the amount, and how the weighting works? Why wouldn't you just aim for more vers? Thanks in advance.

The 1Lady and the child legendary also works with other specs, it boosts the damage by a fair bit and aoe as bear is quite nice... this post was mainly because i got stuck with this legendary XD

I also want to add to Drood's question. If Agility is way below Vers/Mastery, can I just get gear with Intellect but with higher Vers/Mastery?

Most gear (all but trinkets) with agility or intellect changes which main stat it has on it based on what your spec's primary stat, unless you are below level ~90 (before Warlords of Draenor content), where you'll prefer to have Agility gear over Intellect gear.

Uhm can you elaborate more on than? Like did you mean I can gear intellect gear with higher vers/mastery at max level but below 90 I just go for iLvl and agility?

Once you reach level 90 (or Warlords of Draenor content, which you can do starting at level 89 I believe), Leather gear will have both Agility and Intellect on it, and will switch which one is "active" based on your specialization (Guardian and Feral Druids will see Agility as the "active" stat, and Balance and Restoration Druids will see Intellect) and the other will be grayed out.  At this point there is no more "Intellect-Leather gear" or "Agility-Leather gear", only Leather gear.  Before you get to this point, yes, you will mainly just want to focus on getting gear with the most Agility on it first and foremost, and then worry about the secondary stats second.
