The BiS list for trinkets can't be correct. Why would some Heroic trinkets be better than the Mythic version?

It's what SimC is outputting currently. People are still working on it, so there's room for improvement. One problem is that most devs are focusing on Level 110, so results for Level 100 sims are highly inaccurate. Gotta work with the tools available :P

Flame patch was buffed recently by 200%, probably worth using with the class trinket.

Yes, that is taken into account in the talents page and descriptions. With Flame Patch you'll *probably* want to Flamestrike on 3-targets instead of 4, but we'll have to wait for the patch itself to be live to confirm with certainty. Obviously the targets will have to stand in the patch itself for the full duration for it to be effective.

There are some mistakes in the guide:

Combustion now increases Critical Strike and Mastery by 100% for 10 seconds. - Mastery isnt increased by 100% but the critical strike rating that the player has is added to the mastery rating for the duration of combustion. I am not sure wether casting combustion increases critical strike rating itself or just adds 100% crit chance as the final calculation layer. And later  Combustion Icon Combustion is our DPS cooldown. It lasts 10 seconds, and increases our mastery (the bonus damage generated via Ignite Icon Ignite) and our critical strike chance by 100% each

This passive makes your next cast instant, and doubles the Ignite Icon Ignite value from the spell. We will always use this proc on Pyroblast Icon Pyroblast (see Basic Abilities).  It sounds as if it makes any cast instant, which is not true as its only Pyroblast and Flamestrike. Also saying that its always Pyroblast (even though its said when we use flamestrike later in the guide) might be misleading for someone who skimmed the text.

I also think that the tooltip abilities are incorrect? At least cooldown duration on some of them seems to be off.

Decent guide overall, too bad it yet doesnt include Artifact Weapon influence but in due time.

Furty fixed it overnight and I validated the changes a few minutes ago.

Mirror Image should be the go-to talent when leveling, because of one thing not mentioned in this guide - it's a 40 second aggro drop.

Hi guys,

I have a question to section 3.1 Combustion Usage:

Instead of "2. Consume your Heating Up IconHeating Up with a Pyroblast IconPyroblast cast" shoudln`t it be "Consume your Hot Streak with a Pyroblast cast"?

Greetings

Checkmate

Hey, good catch, I'll fix that when I get some time!

Noteworthy but not nearly enough to push it ahead for speed of leveling. Generally you want talents that give you the highest pack-to-pack damage, whereas Mirror Image is more of a burst talent.

Thnx for the guide, much appreciated.

Just wanna make a quick note for finetuning the guide:

FirestarterFirestarter causes FireballFireball to always critically strike when your target is above 90% health. (should be 85%).

In the talent and builds section, the guide suggests that Cinderstorm is better than Meteor currently, but Cinderstorm is not mentioned in the rotation guide even though Meteor is.

Cinderstorm can basically be used on cooldown. One of the main strengths currently is that all individual cinders trigger Doom Nova, so that's a good trinket to pair it with.

I'm by no means an expert and just looking for clarification, but what is the reasoning behind Pyromaniac being good and Controlled Burn not? To my highly devolved brain, it looks to me like two separate instances to get more free Pyroblasts/Flamestrikes. Is it because the other talents in tier 1 are mostly trash?

Soo, I decided to spec from arcane to fire mage and have absolutely no clue about the rotation. Is there no guide line at all ?

I mean I have already read through the whole article and noticed, that it might be depending on the circumstances and is more of a felexible build up instead of a solide rotation, but how do I know when to do what basically ?

It all depends on the critical strikes but mixed together with eventuell movement and debuffs how the hell am I supposed to go through with it.

Sorry if I sound off like a noob, but I simply am used to this whole massive rotation. And honestly I feel a little lost.

There are a few reasons. For starters, as you pointed out, that the competitor talents for Pyromaniac are fairly weak (with the exception of a current obnoxious interaction with Conflagration that triggers the Doom Nova trinket). Flame On offers you such control over your damage and more important, when you get your damage that it generally flattens the competition. A 10% chance is fairly unreliable, and with high levels of critical strike you don't cast nearly the same amount of Fireballs you did in past tiers. All in all, it's a lot better to have two guaranteed Hot Streaks for every Rune of Power/Combustion than it is to have a small periodic chance to not have to Fire Blast.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. If you already read the entire guide carefully I don't think I can explain it to you any better here.

Well I just don t get how to proc heating up. Furthermore I think I got it now, it is rather the same thing keeping the procs alive and using your cooldowns. Please correct me if I am wrong. The only problem I have is, as I said, how to trigger heating up.

I would recommend starting with the "Spell Summary" section of the guide, as it is all explained very clearly there.

Hello Furty! First of all thanks for all the guides!

I have a question about section 2.1

"Generally, you will then want to cast a Fireball Icon Fireball, and immediately spend your Hot Streak Icon Hot Streak on a Pyroblast Icon Pyroblast as your Fireball Icon Fireball cast finishes. Both of these spells will strike at the same time, generating the largest possible ignite and the chance at an immediate follow up Hot Streak Icon Hot Streak if both of them critically strike. If only one of the spells critically strikes, Heating Up Icon Heating Up will proc and you can immediately Fire Blast Icon Fire Blast and repeat this process"

After I cast fireball and immediatly spend Hotstreak on a pyroblast I can the chance to follow up with another hot Streak or get heating up and the Fireblast and get hot streak.

My question is that when I get this "second hotstreak" so to speak, do I cast pyroblast immediatly, or do I do the same thing again, cast a fireball and then follow up with a pyro ?

This is somewhat dependent on context. For sustained damage (for example, on the boss) you'll want to repeat the process as many times as your criticals allow. For important adds with short lifespans you'll want to get as much upfront punch as you can, so just go ahead and Pyroblast again without delay. Inside of Combustion you'll want to Pyroblast immediately as well as rely on your Fire Blast and Flame On to provide the supporting criticals, rather than relying on Fireball. You can also Scorch inside of Combustion if you run out of Fire Blast charges as the speed of the cast to trigger Pyroblast is more important than the strength of the Ignite that Fireball provides in comparison.

In a recent Reddit thread, players shared their regrettable experiences with the game's infamous Black Market Auction House (BMAH).
The highest bids often come with stories of disappointment and frustration, as highlighted by these popular comments:
Reddit user MadsenAn regretted spending a whopping 700,000 gold on a Tabard of Brilliance, only to receive it from a Twitch drop the same day, calling the coincidence "personal."
Redditor DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET shared a tale of woe about spending 180,000 gold on a BMAH mystery box, which contained a Goblin Weather Machine that they had already received from a Twitch drop just a day earlier.
Sammywitchdr recounted how they spent over 1 million gold on a Swift Zulian Panther thinking it was the rare ZG Tiger from vanilla WoW, only to realize they already owned the panther from a previous expansion.
Thoms689 was duped into bidding 1.2 million gold for a Tabard of Frost by a friend who was secretly outbidding him to inflate the price, a betrayal that cost him both gold and a friendship.
Vitchman shared a frustrating experience with a 600,000 gold bid for what turned out to be an Ordos drop that was unsuitable for his character class, illustrating the risks associated with the mysterious contents of BMAH boxes.
Caronry discussed a close call with bidding 5 million gold on an Arcanite Ripper, thankful to have been outbid, which potentially saved them from later regret.
Sigilweavers told a comedic yet painful tale of bidding 900,000 gold for a Firelands mount only to discover they already owned it after winning the auction. This story serves as a cautionary reminder to double-check what you already have before entering a bidding war.
MattyIce8998 recounted an almost regrettable bid of 800,000 gold on Frostfire shoulders, narrowly avoided by being outbid. They eventually acquired the item when it became craftable, much cheaper.
These stories encapsulate the high-risk, high-reward nature of the Black Market Auction House, where players' fortunes can swing dramatically with each bid and the lengths to which gamers will go for the rarities WoW has to offer.
Do you have any interesting BMAH story for us? Don't forget to share it in the comments!

Find out how to obtain the new Spark of Awakening in Season 4.
Spark of Awakening is used to set the item level of crafted gear to Item Level 502 in Season 4, but how can you obtain one on live servers?
Abandon the "Aiding the Accord" quest if it's in your Quest Log.
Pick up the weekly quest from Therazal in central Valdrakken. As you can see, there are now three possible quests for you to receive that will change every week.

The weekly quest options (and objectives) will always be the following:
      Dragon Isles Quest
Participate in a Community Feast Participate in a Hunt Lay siege to Dragonbane Keep Zaralek Cavern Quest
Protect the Researchers Under Fire Loot a Secured Shipment (Suffusion Camp) Complete a Time Rift Amirdrassil Quest
Earn 50 Bloom during the Superbloom Complete a Superbloom Plant 3 Dreamseeds Quest Rewards
After completing the weekly quest you will receive 1 Splintered Spark of Awakening) via Weekly Awakened Activity and a Cache of Awakened Storms (containing gold or gear).
You will need two Splintered Spark of Awakening and 250 Flightstones to create one Spark of Awakening.
      Awakened Raid Bosses
Apparently, Splintered Spark of Awakening have a chance to drop from Awakened Raid bosses, as spotted by @azatoth668!

We'd like to introduce you to a game-changing nameplate addon for Season 4 that's essential for excelling in Mythic+ dungeons.
Tracking every mob and their abilities in Mythic+ can be overwhelming, but this addon excels by replacing standard mob nameplates and cast bars to enhance your gameplay.
Once installed, mobs with critical interrupts will display a thick orange cast bar, while less crucial ones will show a thinner yellow bar.

Mobs with less crucial interrupts will have a thinner yellow cast bar.

Additionally, any mobs that inflict heavy frontal cone damage are marked with an arrow and feature orange cast bars. A voice alert will also prompt you to move by announcing "front."

The addon further assists by indicating non-interruptible spells that require crowd control with a purple cast bar and a vocal "cc" alert.

For tanks, if you're not holding aggro, the nameplates of the mobs will turn red, quickly showing you which ones to target.

There's also a handy visual cue on the cast bar, surrounded by a green border, signaling when you can interrupt an ability and your interrupt skill is off cooldown.

      Ready to try it out?
You can download Quazii Plater here.
For setup assistance, watch Quazii's comprehensive video guide.
Quazii has also created a Mythic+ cheatsheet that details all critical abilities for Season 4 dungeons, available in a text format.

Players are currently unable to catalyze gear from the Black Temple Timewalking cache into class set piece.
It's unclear whether this limitation is a bug or an intended feature, but the gear obtained from completing this week's Black Temple Timewalking quest cannot be converted into a set piece using the Revival Catalyst, as reported on Reddit.
I personally checked this at Antuka and can confirm that gear from the weekly quest cache cannot be catalyzed. I received the Grips of Damnation from the Essence boss yesterday, and found that the item was ineligible for conversion at the Catalyst.

Here's how you can upgrade your legendary weapons in Dragonflight Season 4 next week!
This one is for Fyr'alath and Nasz'uro owners. You must first farm 2 Antique Bronze Bullions. However, you can only acquire 1 Antique Bronze Bullion per week from Awakened Raid bosses. The bullion will drop in Raid Finder difficulty too.
Next week, the cap will be raised to 2 and a catch-up method will be implemented, so players who didn't have the chance to get their first bullion can get it from the weekly quest in Valdrakken.
Anyway, the soonest you can upgrade your legendary to the base item level of 502 is during the week of April 30th (so next week).
Once you have 2 Antique Bronze Bullions, head to the Parting Glass in Valdrakken.

Evokers need to buy Scale of Awakening from Iszinormi for 2 Antique Bronze Bullions. Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors need to buy Scale of Awakening from Iszinormi for  2 Antique Bronze Bullions. Once purchased, use the consumable to upgrade your legendary to item level 502, the base item level for Season 4.
After that, you can further upgrade your legendary using Flightstones and crests. Check out our gear upgrading guide for more info!
