Hi, there seems to be either something missing from the First of the Dead Opening Sequences  section (4.2) or I'm misunderstanding something. How am I supposed to apply Nightblade without performing any CP generating abilities first?

Cast ShadowstrikeShadowstrike before applying NightbladeNightblade

Hi, I am confused about entering SD at 3 combo points, if shadowstrike gives 2x combo points and the rotation says to shadowstrike twice before eviscerate that makes 7 combo points seems like a waste of a combo point or should we be running with anticipation ? as the build page has us using the talent that gives us a potential 6 combo points.

It is to ensure a maximum damage Evis is used, rather than a 5-point one. Losing that CP doesn't matter at that point, since you'll get the energy return on using Evis with 6-CP.

Hey,
Would it be better to change a Legendary with bad stats, in my case the vigor ring, with a main stat ring?
I´m not really sure but i think to swap out rings wouldn´t be bad since they dont provide agility to profit from.

Also, I dont know if this is just for me but in all my sims lately Engine of eradication has  been better than Vial of Ceaseless Toxins for a good margin (both paired with Specter of Betrayal) though it is listed below for quite a bit in the guide.

So Im pretty much a newb to WoW, but since patch 7.2.5. they changed SD.. How do I keep my 2 charges up??? I keep running out of them, am I not supposed to use them right away and rather use Backstab to gain combo points, use a finisher to get some of the CD off of it?

As you build and spend Combo Points (CP) you will reduce the cooldown on Shadow Dance by a few seconds for each point. It doesn't matter which skills build or spend them

  • Backstab will give you 1CP, Shuriken Storm will give you 1CP per target hit, and Shadowstrike will give you 2CP (but you can only use this while Shadow Dance or Stealth is active).
  • Eviscerate or Nightblade will spend all of the CP you have accumulated, and as you spend these CP the cooldown (cd) on Shadow Dance (SD) will be reduced

You aren't meant to always have SD running

Does that help?

Kinda.

Im aware of the mechanic behind getting some of the CD off of SD, but doesnt that mean a huge dmg loss?

Not being in SD in longer fights, for example boss fights. Using finishers to get CD off of SD is cool, but once im depleted of my SD charges I have to use backstab to use finisher and get more CD off SD. Is that right? I kinda thought im doing something wrong since ~30% off the time (bossfight) I wont be in SD.

No, that's exactly right. You can't use your cooldowns all the time, Sub is about maximising your burst windows and stacking all of the damage that you can into them

Guys, what loot spec is the best to choose when opening weekly chests?I am so fed up with that haste bullcrap (when subtletly loot spec is active).I literally now have 3 useless titanforged 950 gear pieces with haste that are worse than my current 920-930 pieces.I think i am gonna try assa next week.Blizzard thinks haste is the best stat for sub apparently.

It won't give you BiS stat items lol, it isn't designed to. All the leather armor and all the trinkets are shared for the loot tables that Rogues have - really the only difference is legendaries and relics, and even then a decent number of the relics are shared

If you think about it, your weekly chest is very unlikely to give you something that you want. It can give you any item from any dungeon that you could possibly pick up, there's no way to control it at all. I ended up sharding probably 18 of the last 20 pieces I picked up from my weekly chest.

Ok,i see how it is now.I haven't gotten anything usefull in months as well.Everything that drops has haste on it (and when i played outlaw it usually dropped mastery) thats why I assumed it had something to do with a spec.

Thats so frustrating to dismantle 950 items...In the moments like these I wish we had reforging like in good old days lol.

Yeah, Storm everything, hit your main target with Nightblade, then spam out Evis / DfA.

Don't be afraid to use Shadow Dance on trash, especially if it will come back up in time for the next boss

Here is a better macro for Shadowstrike and Shadow dance:

#showtooltip
/cast [stealth][stance:1][stance:2] Shadowstrike; [nostance] Shadow Dance;

Quite interesting switch up with t21.But I still kinda dont understand why crit/mastery takes up the upper hand over vers/mastery after acquairing t21 4 pieces.?Also all of a sudden rings are bis'es now ?! Is it because of high amount of cleave encounters in the antorus? Please explain :D

And I am a bit sad that there are not so much good trinkets for us in antorus...

And I am a bit sad that there are not so much good trinkets for us in antorus...

So a couple things are going to happen that will influence Legendary choice, especially right now:

  1. Mantle is not bad all of a sudden. It's still very strong. You don't use the rings until you get the 4-set anyways.
  2. We cast a lot more Backstabs
  3. 4pc t21 + 2pc t20 is very very good

The third one is the easiest to explain: using the Shoulders takes up a possible slot where we can use a 6-piece set. Being able to combine the extra damage from SoD (the t20 2-piece) with the cooldown reduction on that skill (t21 2-piece) is really nice.

In previous tiers, we avoided using Backstab as much as possible. It didn't have a point, because it did so little damage and gave us no other bonuses, preferring Shuriken Storm any time there was a second target in the area. Now, with the 4pc, Backstab has a very important role. A chance to refund every CP we spend is no joke, so we'll be using that a lot more

With more casts of Backstab comes an (obvious) increase in damage from that skill. Gloomblade is an easy way to not only buff the damage (through better scaling and ignoring armour) but also to no longer have a positioning requirement.

The new legendary ranking is basically a reflection of all of that. We're using more Single Target CP builders and more Energy in general, and being able to combine set bonuses

Thanks alot for the explanation. But I have more questions :)

So,once I acquire 4 peace of t21,i should try to combine it with 2 piece of t20?And start to aim for the crit as a main stat right? (assuming I have both rings, which I have). Also within what ilvl difference is it worth to use t20 pieces over new gear?

And the last question, how good is Forgefiends Fabricator trinket?I just got it as 930,but I am currently using spectral+EoE both 925?

Forgefiends is really lacklustre, I'd avoid using it

Yes, you should try and run 4pc t21 and 2pc t20. As for ilevel differences I don't know off the top of my head, Sims should be able to help you there

How to correctly use dreadlords deceit?Should it always be used with 30 stacks and with SD+SoD?

I've seen logs from High command, portal keeper and eonar where most dps rogues used mantle+cloak but I personally cant use it at all.Mobs spawn too often for cloak to justify itself.Id rather just spam suriken storm in order to obtain CPs to extend my shadow blades (with bracers) or even use something else as a legendary,at least on high command and portal keeper for sure.

Well each of your shuriken storm will benefit from at least one stack of the cloak..

That is obvious, but is it worth tho?I dont know about that. There is probably more rational use of cloak besides spaming it with 1 stack.

Now's the perfect time to unlock your missing Plunderstorm rewards with doubled Renown gains until April 30th!
      (Source)
Hoist the sails and batten the hatches; a Plundersurge begins this week with weekly maintenance!
The Plunderstorm event is ending on April 30, but until then, pirating players can double the amount of Renown earned from all sources of Plunder by taking the Plundersurge.
      Set Sail for the Plunderstorm
Plunge into a challenging battle that earns excellent rewards for World of Warcraft® Modern and Classic progression realms. All you have to do is survive…and plunder. Can't seem to stay in the realm of the living? No problem. Plunderers still gain progression that helps unlock new rewards.
Each match is 10-15 minutes long and has 60 players per match, with the winner being the last one standing. Level up and acquire new abilities and spells by killing creatures and enemies, looting chests, and avoiding the encroaching storm.
      A Pirate's Life for You
The Arathi Highlands is the backdrop for this pirating adventure, and you'll have plenty of challenges to keep you busy.
      Prepare to Plunder
Plunderstorm is perfect for pick-up and play! No expansion purchase is required, but a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time is needed to participate in a high-stakes, play-by-the-seat-your-pants match. This means that Classic players can also participate in a plethora of plundering fun by simply installing the modern (Live) World of Warcraft client:
Launch the Battle.net desktop app. Click the World of Warcraft icon at the top. If the icon is missing, click on All Games and select the game from the list. On top of the Install button is a drop-down menu. Confirm that you wish to install World of Warcraft. Click Install. Once you’re in modern WoW:
Select Plunderstorm2 from the World of Warcraft game menu to get into the action. Create a new, ready-to-play character—player characters are unique to this event. You don't need previous knowledge of races and classes to chart your course for mayhem. Choose between Solo or—to play with your Battle.net friends—make a group from the Plunderstorm character screen and select Duo. If queued for a Duo without a partner, you'll be automatically matched with one. You can also access chat, customize characters, and see the queue from the Character Select Screen. Action Bar and Abilities, Worthy Mates
Discover lootable spells, abilities, and upgrades as you plunder treasure chests and defeat enemies. Upon picking up, spells and abilities are automatically added to your Action Bar, with two slots dedicated to offensive skills and two for utilities such as leaps, speed boosts, and crowd-control.
Some abilities are more action-based and require good positioning and player targeting. Have fun discovering and experimenting with different combinations to find what works for you.
Upgrades to Your Spells and Abilities
Your spells and abilities can be upgraded by discovering higher-quality versions from treasure chests or finding the same ability elsewhere and stacking it to Rank 3 (epic). There are also plenty of plundering opportunities—various treasure chests with different rarities that harbor all types of abilities are stashed around the map. Always stay on the lookout for better loot and upgrades.
      Spectating Spectre
Upon death, keep watching the match from the perspective of your teammates (if they're still alive) or other players, including their loadout.
      Rewards A-Plenty for Plundering Pirates
Players can earn cosmetics, pets, titles, and mounts as they progress through the reward track. These include the majestic Polly Roger parrot mount, Bubbles the crab pet, swashbuckling cosmetics, 750 Trader's Tender from "Keg Leg's Crew" for use on the Trading Post, and more. 3 A victory is not required to claim the spoils of a well-fought fight.
To view Renown and apply the Plunderstorm weapon and transmog customizations, change titles, or summon pets, swabbies can click on Da'kash Grimledger standing directly in front of the spawn point in the Plunderstorm lobby.
Customization unlocks are simultaneously unlocked for Dragonflight characters and can be found in your Collection. Each Renown level unlock is noted in colored text under the reward name, whether the reward is for Dragonflight, Plunderstorm, or Classic.
Perch on the shoulders of this parrot instead of him perching on yours! Proper pirate fashion is a must for plundering! There isn't a better first mate on the high seas than Pirate Pepe! Plunderstorm Content Update Notes

We look forward to seeing you drop from the skies to engage in pirate-themed mayhem. We'll see you in Azeroth and wherever the adventure takes you!

2Plunderstorm is accessed from the World of Warcraft® game menu but exists outside of player progression in World of Warcraft® and Wrath of the Lich King Classic™.
3Plunderstorm offers rewards for both World of Warcraft® and Wrath of the Lich King Classic™.

Check out our first look at MoP Remix coming in Patch 10.2.7!
When Patch 10.2.7 goes live, you will be greeted by the following screen, informing you about the MoP Remix event and its objectives. There will be a button that lets you create your Timerunner (character).

Similar to Plunderstorm, there will be an icon on the character screen for MoP Remix with the number of days remaining.

Timerunners will be marked with a special icon next to their name on the character selection screen.

When you first enter the game, you'll start with a short intro quest on the Timeless Shore. Your character will be affected with the Pandaria: Remix buff.

The quest intro features a few unique quests before you start replaying MoP from the very beginning. It introduces you to Bronze, the event's currency used to buy items and upgrade gear.
Throughout your journey you will come across some very unique gear just like this cloak (Cloak of Infinite Potential) that permanently increases in power (Timerunner's Advantage).

Your char will have access to two important Timerunning abilities.
Extract Gem - Extract a gem from one of your socketed items. Unraveling Sands - Summon Unraveling Sands that transforms your unwanted items into Bronze. Gems offer a lot of customization in MoP Remix and you want to extract them with Extract Gem, because placing a new gem on top of a socketed one will make you lose it.
If you come across unneeded gear, you can scrap it for Bronze with Unraveling Sands.

Things seem to be stabilizing a little, at least at the very top, as our DK-Rogue trio remains solid this week. There's plenty of movement below that though, so let's dive in.
Note: We are using Normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. The u.gg rankings at the bottom are raw DPS. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it's AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.
      Mythic
      Overall Damage 95th Percentile
It seems we have a stable chart at the top, as the DK-Rogue sandwich is exactly where we left them last week! We do see a big mover right after that, however, as Elemental jumps three spots up into 4th, pushing Retribution down one. Fury remains stable in 6th, followed by Frost Mage, which gains a spot at the expense of Outlaw, which is down three. The three A's are still sticking together, with Arms, Assassination and Arcane all moving one up, and the Rogue moving ahead of the Mage at the end of the top 10.

95th percentile Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Overall Damage All Percentiles
It's Survival's week this time around, as the Hunter bursts up nine spots into 7th, with the top 6 remaining the same. Elemental rises here as well in 9th, gaining three spots, as Havoc drops two at the end of the top 10. Marksmanship joins fellow Hunter Beast Mastery in the bottom 3, taking Feral's place.
All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
Unholy moves to the top of the pack in the direct damage charts, just barely taking Subtlety down. Survival makes an appearance here as well, moving six spots up into 6th, as Assassination and Shadow push Balance out of the top 10.
All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Heroic
      Overall Damage All Percentiles

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.

      U.GG Raw Mythic DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks. This chart is for Mythic only.
Arms is on the way up, gaining three spots in 6th and pushing Havoc down one, as the Fyr'alaths start compounding here as well. Fire moves three up in 9th, as Frost DK drops those same three spots just outside the top 10.
      Mythic chart by u.gg.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for more information you can check out our Dragonflight class guides, Amirdrassil boss guides, the raid DPS tier list, as well as more data from Warcraft Logs here.

As many expected, it seems everyone's favorite farm won't be making it to Remix: Mists of Pandaria, as spotted by TheYamagato.
This makes perfect sense, since it's a limited time event and the farm is a long reputation grind based on daily activities, and just wouldn't really fit with the shorter runtime. The farm itself is still there, but the NPCs that start the quests are not, replaced by the new Timerunning ones.       And so we're going to have to skip the farm when 10.2.7 comes along, but hey, it's still there on regular old retail if you really feel the need!
