Subtlety Rogue 7.3

Recommended Posts

You should make an effort to enter Shadow Dance Icon Shadow Dance with 3 Combo Points. This allows our 3rd global inside Shadow Dance Icon Shadow Dance to be a finisher (ideally Eviscerate Icon Eviscerate), which will return 30-36 Energy (depending on Combo Points) and help sustain our dance. Entering dance with the correct amount of Combo Points ensures we get a full power Eviscerate Icon Eviscerate and maximum Energy return from our passive. A typical Shadow Dance Icon Shadow Dance (without Subterfuge IconSubterfuge) will look like:

  1. Shadowstrike Icon Shadowstrike.
  2. Shadowstrike Icon Shadowstrike.
  3. Eviscerate Icon Eviscerate.
  4. Cast Shadowstrike Icon Shadowstrike.

If we enter Shadow Dance with 3 combo points, and we use 2 Shadowstrikes, don't we overlap combo points? 3 + 2 + 2 = 7, and I only have 6. OR does it mean that we want more Shadowstrikes and we use Eviscerate only to generate energy so we get to use one more Shadowstrike? Since energy is more important in Shadow Dance than combo points?  So without Eviscerate we can fit in 2 shadowstrikes, but with Eviscerate we fit 3 Shadowstrikes + 1 Eviscerate. Thats how at least I understood it. Thanks alot for the great guide!

This guide seems to be very out of date. You can't use Shadow Dance mid-DfA anymore, I've tried several times.

It says Sub is the weakest spec, but it's top rogue spec by a lot in logs in almost every fight in Antorus.

Yes you can. You don't use it in the middle, you use it as you finish coming down but before the Evis animation happens. Basically as soon as you start coming down spam it and it will happen.

Honestly it isn't. You can check the Warcraft Logs rankings page for Heroic and Mythic, and you'll notice that Assassination is running away with the field except on a couple specific bosses. Additionally, if you look at the statistics for 75th percentile for Mythic and Heroic you'll notice the same thing.

All 3 Rogue specs are good at different things - it just so happens that Assassination's damage model fits the current raid better in more situations than the other 2. Both Sub and Outlaw are absolutely viable though, I've performed well on each one in the current tier

I think it's also fair to say that, if you ignore Assassination and want to perform at that top-log level, you're more likely to on many fights by going Outlaw and waiting for those good RNG pulls. I agree that Sub isn't bad, but it's worse than lucky Outlaw and Assassination.

Rogue talents don't really change much from one situation to another. I run the same standard build

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale

We've looked at the Mythic+ Tier List for the first time in Patch 10.2.6!
      DISCLAIMER
The following post is based on data from U.GG. Therefore, the data presented here may differ from Petko's Mythic Tier Lists maintained on our site.
      How the Data is Calculated
U.GG's tier list is created by evaluating damage and healing scores from the very best players and factoring in the frequency of each spec's appearances in the highest rankings of the current Mythic+ season. The tier list of each spec is determined by its effectiveness and prevalence at the highest levels of Mythic+ play.
