Lashing Tail Kick Monk with Sunwuko

 Thanks for this Guide.

I would just like to add that LTK with Sweeping Armada gives you a higher chance to Crit. because of it's 15-yard radius, which then helps to maintain your Sweeping Wind stacks.

The above is very useful, especially for early progression, and onwards,...

Thanks for pointing that out for the newer players/those doing low progression!

Thanks for this Guide:

(S7) Paragon 600 here, and I managed to just barely get a GR 70, solo, with this LTK build.  :)

Everything else was the same, as per GR progression build here,  except the "only" changes I made was substituting:

Near Death -> Exalted Soul

LTK's  Vulture Claw Kick -> Sweeping Armada

I tried LTK-Vulture Claw Kick, and Near Death, on a couple other 70's but couldn't quite do it, probably just a bad GR roll.?

Notwithstanding, with the right chemistry, either way, this build still rocks, and most especially for speedfarming/Nephalem Rifts.

so, once again, Thankyou all for providing insightful guides here.  :)

That's always possible, yeah. Bad GR rolls can ruin a perfect build with perfect gear, just depends how lucky you are!

Hey guys, loving this build so far, any tips on maintaining sweeping wind stacks, they don't seem to last long. Cheers

Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac rolls always with Crit hit chance, attack speed, cooldown reduction and resource cost reduction,

Thus getting most of the preferred affixes listed in this guide for it, is impossible. Basically you can only switch one of the above to socket and that's it.

Hey there , it's a nice build and I have been using for a while but I have some questions :

First , about the Obsidian ring , hoe are you supposed to get socket , chd and chc ? It always comes let with atk speed , chc , cdr and resource cost reduction ! Right now I have two , one with chd and chc and the other one with chc and socket for exaltation gem , what should I do ?

Also , I have tried to run on higher gr than 60 and I just can't , maybe it's a thing about that ring and that one lf my weps is not ancient (vengeful wind ) ! Thanks a lot for this guide , keep on doing this amazing work ! !

You just need to maintain it by hitting enemies with a melee attack. If you aren't hitting enemies, the belt will maintain it.

The priority of stats does remain the same though. They are all listed there because it answers the question: "I don't have the Obsidian Ring, but I have X. What stats should I aim for on it?" For the Obsidian Ring, you follow the same priority but it stops at an earlier point.

The socketed one is better.

You seem to be missing out on a few rolls on gear, like on your shoulders. The guide recommends RCR > CDR, but you've rolled CDR on your shoulders. Maybe check your gear again against the gear recommendations.

How come your using Guards over Nemesis? I assume you wanted extra Toughness, but personally I didn't find I needed it. Are you in a group with someone using Nemesis?

Oh thanks for the recommendation on the shoulders, I didn't notice it ! And about the nemesis , I was using this one because I was playing with 3 low lvl and two of them had nems active !

I have another question , right now I rolled up in vengeful wind the damage range and I'm trying to max it out , thing is that this build aims for fire damage on vulture kick and on already have normal damage , should I try to get fire damage ? Also my scarbringer is on holy damage :s would this make a big change in damage ?

Thanks a lot for your time, I really appreciate your answers !

Keep helping people , it makes a change!

The damage type of your weapon no longer makes a difference, only the numbers do, so just aim for the highest number possible.

I was wondering why ppl wont use iceblink gem for more crit chance, i'm not sure what gem you want to change maybe resist gem?!? and either swap lashing tail kick to ice or sweeping wind to have that chill bonus, and you get to see that your sweep stacks wont drop at all with +60% cchance , its impossible to have sweep stacks at 50% too much and have to keep too much eye on those stacks is anoing

I honestly don't think you need additional help with maintaining Sweep stacks. This seems to be a recurring theme, but I'm not sure why so many people are having issues with it?

Can you explain when you are losing stacks?

Personnally I always lose my stack when there are only a few enemies left (high grift especially). In melee (just like boss fights),  I need to go away, wait for the stack to grow back and then I'm back fighting. Lot of time wasted like this and it is dangerous.

I can do grift 75 with my build no problem, but I need Unity and a follower. In multiplayer, I replace Unity by Convention of Elements but that doesn't keep me alive past grift 75+ (getting one shot kill). Unity does.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/MuFfInMaN-1221/hero/80842829

I personnally prefer Sweeping Armada and physical dmg over fire/Vulture. There's most range and it helps a bit with the stack.

Since I didn't find a furnace yet, I use the crystal fist in cube. It gives 50% dmg reduction, like the unity ring. Instead of unity I use the CoE ring. So I get an average 50% dmg increase against all enemies, not only against elites (from cubed furnace). Besides that I changed the LTK-rune to Sweeping armada. Now, I can benefit from the CoE for 8 seconds in one cycle, not only for 4 seconds. The overall dmg output should be the same, almost. But I don't need to focus all my attacks to this very short 4-seconds-time-slot. I have 8 seconds of increased dmg now.

Besides that, I use the spirit guards for more defense and crippling wave as the generator. Rune-wise I have several options for crippling wave:

  • Concussion for 20% dmg reduce from the enemies hit by cv
  • Rising Tide for even further inceased spirit generation
  • Breaking wave for 10% increased dmg taken by the monster that were hit by cv
  • Tsunami for more cc, since it freezes all enemies within 17 yards

I removed the mantra for cv...

Other changes: Instead of esoteric alteration I use the gogok of swiftness for cooldown reduction, attack speed increase and increased dodge chance.

For even more defense I use The Guardian's Path passive instead of Seize the initiative. Personallay, I have more trouble to stay alive than to do damage....

Pls let me know, what you think about it! Is this setup a viable version of the SWK-LTK build or did I miss some important points?

Thanks and best regards, Sorat.

Sorat, I would suggest using the rune Vulture Claw Kick (which is also what is suggested in this guide) because of your fire dmg in the amulet. Therefore I would also reroll your spirit guard for fire damage to be more consistent.

Personnally, I can't get rid of Mantra of Salvation/Agility or Esoteric Alteration in grift. Maybe that's why you have problem staying alive?

I see you are using Harmony passive but your gear doesn't have a lot of single elemental resistances. Maybe you die a lot because of that? In that case Esoteric would provide most core resistances than gogok.

I would like to pose a few questions and share some thoughts regarding the trinket Draught of Souls.
It seems that you should never use SoF and DoS at the same time since the clonens don't rage while you do.
How do I use DoS in the opener? It enhances ToD's dmg through Gale Burst but at the same time you are not able to make full use of SEF since you are unable to make any actions during the 3 secs of channeling. So do you delay the DoS use until after clones have gone or do you delay clones? I believe DoS does way more dmg during the Fel-Crazed Rage than the clones would in the 3 secs. But what about the remaining 5 secs. of ToD? Do you use SEF right after DoS and then Fists of Fury or Strike of the Windlord?
What buffs/stats applies to the DoS use effect? Does Hit Combo? Because then you would like to have it stacked to 8 before using DoS. And then it might be better to delay the trinket until after clones are gone losing the trinket dmg in Gale Burst...
After the first use how do you proceed? Just use it on CD (outside SEF) or line it up with anything interesting?

Looking forward to interesting input. Seems like the monks in the forum are laying low.

A small patch went live yesterday on PTR with bug fixes and changes to the functionality of Manald Heal and Illusory Boots.
Below are changes brought with this patch. Information related to the previous build can be found here.

      Hello,
Adelante is currently recruiting DPS & Heals, however, all competent players will be considered.  We are a Horde guild on Arthas and our current progression is 1/10M NH, 10/10H NH 6/7M EN and 3/3H TOV.  As far as classes go we do not have a Moonkin, Mage, Feral Druid, or any type of Monk. We only raid two nights a week, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM Eastern.  Thursday is not considered a raid night, but we will often clear Heroic and Normal on this evening for AP and it is not required. We are pushing progression on Il'gynoth, and look forward to finishing off EN then moving on to Nighthold, we will be intermittently working on Mythic TOV.
From you, we would expect 100% attendance during your trial period; after that, if you cannot make a raid or will be late it is mandatory to keep the raid leader updated.  In order to continue making good progression while raiding only two nights a week, we expect that you know your class inside-out and will research any bosses you are unfamiliar with prior to raids.
If you are interested, please PM me (violentravi#1826) or recruiting officer Sepsis (tuxedomask#1712) in game.  However, if you have time (which goes a long way) for us to give you a real evaluation there is a short forum to fill out linked on our discord: https://discord.gg/JMVuYRW

      Thank you for your consideration
