Class Changes in Battle for Azeroth

I don't play top end bgs simply because blizziod, traditionally, has always done a poor job of balancing power and talents. They always seem to get twisted-up in their underwear trying to take under consideration PVE & PVP game requirements. This is why a play lowbie RBG's instead. I also find end-game nonsense, "extremely boring". Every time I see these kind of dramatic changes to talents and power, I hold my breath and comment... "here we go again". Based on historical performance patterns, there is no doubt in my mind there will be the usual winners and losers in going through the "tweaking processes". Winners will be; mages, druids, priests, warlocks, warriors, demon hunters and DK's. The loser groups will include; hunters, rogues, shamans, monks, and pallys. This is my guess.

Expecting a lot of changes to Hunter, except for BM. Lone Wolf has always polarised the player base, but tbh if they let MM have a pet it would honestly come down to whether BM or MM does the most damage rather than a choice of individual playstyle. BM seems fairly stable; they seem have figured out the niche and flavour they want for that.

Survival sounds equal parts messy and intriguing. The reduction in attack range will be the most jarring change for most I think, and Mongoose Bite as a talent (the main damage ability in Legion) is beyond weird. By the sounds of the talent tree, it seems to replace Raptor Strike, which is normally the Focus dump ability (or refreshes Serpent Sting talent) unless you have something like Throwing Axes, which now generates focus? Lots of ranged abilities / talents as well on top of an even clunkier melee rotation by the gist of it? Noticing a fair bit of Cleave / DoT being added; to make up for the loss of Caltrops?

Camouflage should be a baseline ability already, or at least not switched places in the tiers to compete with crowd control abilities, and the level 45 movement tier that doesn't seem to indicate that they apply to Disengage and will remain with Harpoon only makes me sad. I'd be happy if Harpoon worked like Grappling Hook and didn't root or apply a DoT, that's how useful precise movement ability is. Dumping everything onto Harpoon is useless so that you always require to run INTO melee / aggro range of an enemy instead of gaining the benefits from Disengage because you fucking NEED precise and safe manoeuvrability for raiding and pvp as melee.

survival does get disengage its spellbook ability versus having to take a talent tier

Aye I saw that, but the third or movement tier will still be lacking unless the talents apply to Disengage and not solely Harpoon. I'd actually prefer if they didn't apply to Harpoon at all and to Disengage only. When you Harpoon a target, it gets rooted if it's not a boss, so a speed buff is wasted there on top of it being a good range gap closer in the first place. If it is a boss, you're ideally wanting to start dpsing, not trying to use the initial attack in your rotation to reposition or get a movement speed buff BEFORE you can move away from the danger. I'm hoping they address this, as the clunky and clumsy movement of SV is one of the worst things about the spec.

As it is still early, and we are not yet set on if these changes are all going to be there or not, even though this is for beta currently.

My concern is that they will completely disable pets for MM because LW  is appearing to be set as a baseline/passive skill for MM.  I love my pets and I love being able to direct those pets.  However, if it turns out that they are changing/encouraging/nudging MM in to a non-pet role, then I will just have to abandon MM as I did all the way from BC through Draenor.  I would be sad night elf.  I Love my MM as it is/was for Burning Legion.

I only play low lvl RBG's (hunters). Based on what I perceive blizziod has planned for hunters in BFA,, at lvl 19, is continued dominance by Survival Hunts, and BM's & MM's will continue to be "kill fodder" for the melees and others. Example, why would blizziod grant the ability, "kill command" to Surv's and not BM's? It appears the, "right-brainers" working at blizziod are smoking too much of that funny stuff again! I don't trust blizziod and, they lie all the time. At this point in Legion, I have no interest in the end game nonsense and doubt if I will waste my money buying BFA. So, blizziod ultimately loses my accounts.

I'm also curious why they didn't bump level 100 talents to 105 and add a level 120 8th tier talent row that mimics current artifact abilities, Such as their gold traits.

This would have been the smart thing to do. However, we should all know by now that Blizzard has a bad habit of disregarding the easy path. For whatever reason, they always insist on taking the most difficult options available to them.

Why not add in an 8th tier since we are going 20 levels beyond the current talent tier cap? or are they waiting until we reach level 125/130? It really would be nice to see an extra tier added.

My comments pertain to hunters only. I only do 19 lvl, RBG's at this time. Based on what I see, it appears BM's are still getting screwed at the lower bg brackets. Both BM and MM hunters will continue to be easy kills for the melees and other OP types. As far as the Survival melees are concerned, at the lower lvls, they were way OP'd to begin with and, this pathetic attempt by blizziod to make Survs appear to be a "real hunters" is a joke. In low lvl RBG's, I anticipate Survs to continue being OP, when compared to BM's and MM's. Legion, has been disappointing to me and I don't plan on participating in BFA. Good job blizziod! You not only are losing my 3 accounts, but also the cost of the BFA! LOL!

Is the new mastery for Survival Hunter a joke? Adding Mastery: Spirit BondMastery: Spirit Bond again was a step forward. But only 1.2% HP every 5 seconds? Sorry, but this is useless. It used to be 3% HP every 2 seconds back then.

The focus is likely on the damage, rather than the healing aspect of it.

Which is bad because the survival hunter lacks survivability, especially in pvp situations. Blizzard gotta increase the hp regeneration. Nobody wants to play survival hunter like that, with a 2 minute cooldown on a 30% heal (lol).

Slax, I'm so pleased you spend so much of your time sifting through Icy Veins commentary! If your comment is the only thing you noted from what I had to say, well too bad.

With regard to what I have commented on, my perspective on WoW is I'm sure different than most. I would not consider myself a "gameboy mental" and, the niche I enjoy in WoW is in fact the only reason I continue playing WoW. I am pretty good at what I do, and as long as I continue to do well in WoW, I will continue to do it.

Today's hotfixes are still very Plunderstorm-heavy, but we do get fixes for more achievement-related mount issues and PvP catch-up, in addition to the limited time event's adjustments.
      March 27 (Source)
      Achievements
Fixed bugs causing mounts related to A World Awoken to be unavailable, including Bestowed Ottuk Vanguard, Bestowed Trawling Mammoth, Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader, Bestowed Sandskimmer, Bestowed Ohuna Spotter, Coralscale Salamanther, Stormtouched Bruffalon, and Taivan. Player versus Player
Fixed an issue that prevented Splintered Sparks of Dreams from dropping from PvP sources while eligible for catch-up. Plunderstorm
The Storm’s fury swells! Lightning strikes during the final stage of the Storm are faster and more dangerous than before. There is now a delay of 20 seconds after being revived where players no longer drop collected Plunder. Additional enemies now spawn at Witherbark Village, the wild area northeast of Go’Shek Farm, and the wild area between Witherbark Village and Boulderfist Hall. Fixed an issue where swapping back to default sword and gun appearances were not saving correctly. Fixed an issue so that now, picking up an additional rank 2 spell while the same rank 2 spell is equipped properly grants the rank 4 version of the spell. The Captain’s Orders quest “X Marks the Spot” now requires 1 item to be picked up (was 2 items).

Well that didn't take long! We found out someone had broken the 700,000 Plunder milestone yesterday evening, and we're already done with the full amount now! Soularpower_ managed to grind it out a couple of hours ago in duos, and grabbed the Plunderkind achievement, so huge congratulations! It's been a week and a day since the event was released, and despite there being plenty of Plunder drop buffs since then it's still great to see someone get it all done already.

Unsurprisingly, the first thing Soularpower_ after reaching that goal was... play more Plunderstorm! He's actually still at it if now you want to check the stream out.

Here's our first post-patch look at the Mythic+ log rankings. While the patch didn't really touch any of the DPS or tank specs, there's still some movement there, especially in the raw DPS chart. Healers got some solid changes in the patch, and the definitely had an effect.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top percentiles are extremely stable, which makes sense since the patch didn't really bring any significant changes for DPS specs. We have to go down to number 7 to see the first bit of movement, as Destruction moves two up, leaving its fellow Warlock down in 9th, as Arms gets between them, gaining 3 spots. Havoc closes out the top 10 three down, and right behind it we find the newly buffed Elemental moving three up. While Augmentation is being properly calculated, we still find an Evoker in the bottom 3, as Devastation drops one down and takes Marksmanship's place.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
It took Shadow a little longer to get into the top in the generalist bracket, as we find it in 3rd now, pushing Outlaw down one. Balance also moves up, 2 spots into 6th, as it and Arms take advantage of Havoc's fall. The Demon Hunter finds itself 3 down in 9th, while Fury remains stable at the very end of the top 10.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
While Outlaw remains at the top, pretty much everything's changing beneath it. Shadow and Retribution joined forces and moved two up together, breaking into the top 3. Fire is also on the rise, gaining 3 spots, and right behind it we find another big leaper, as Arms moves a whopping 5 spots up.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

      All Percentiles Tank (Points)
There's actually some solid movement here, as we see Paladin take 2nd away from DK and Druid take Monk down, with Warrior remaining in last place and DH being far ahead of the pack.
Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Healer (Points)
Healers had some significant changes with the patch, but it hasn't stopped Monk from remaining at the top. Druid moves into 2nd, taking Discipline Priest down a peg, and it seems the Holy Priest patch reworks helped it out, as it gains a spot in 4th.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs and u.gg. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides, as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

In Dragonflight Season 4, Awakened/Fated raids will be on a weekly rotation.
Upon accessing the Adventure Guide and navigating to the Raids section, you'll notice a green gem icon beside the raid that's Awakened for the current week.

When a raid is Awakened, bosses are more powerful and loot drops are upgraded to a higher item level. The upcoming season revisits the Fated system introduced in Shadowlands Season 4.

We've already taken a look at all the items coming to the Trading Post next month, as the Season 4 PTR revealed them, but now let's see them in movement as well! MrGM has detailed everything coming in April, from the awesome Dreadwake mount to a pretty cool polearm, some new capes, and all the other pirate-themed items. Let's take a look.

If you'd rather just scroll through some images, you can head on to our original post here.
