I'd say no, because you relay too heavily on spelldamage then.

And the more spelldamage you have, the less effective is another increase.

Example: Robe of the Magi nets you +3? spelldamage. (I am not sure about the exact figure).

If you have a spell that does 3 damage, you get 6 damage out of this spell -> increase by +100%.

Or if you have a fireball with 6 you get 10 -> increase by +67%

If you have another Robe your new results are:

3 base damage + 1 existing Robe of magi = 6. Another Robe of Magi +3 = 9 -> Increase by +50% (from 6 to 9)

Fireball: 6 base damage + 1 x Robe = 9. Another Robe = 12 -> increase by 33% (from 9 to 12)

In this example your increase has been drastically lowered from 100% to 50% and from 67% to 33%f

You benefit way less from the second then you benefit from the first.

Of course if you are a Mage with a spell oriented deck for the SP event then more damage per card can be better.  I had double Robe of teh Magi for one run and it was the easiest run I ever had with an SP adventure.

^This. The most detailed explanation you'll ever get. Definitely agree with this. :)
