Second Source Allegedly Confirms The Burning Crusade Classic Beta in March 2021

Recommended Posts

DBF6X0b.jpg

Nano from the Nostalrius project is back with a second source that allegedly confirmed that Phase 6 and Naxxrammas are planned for early December 2020 with The Burning Crusade Classic Beta launching in March 2021, and we also find out that TBC Classic may launch sooner than expected.

Barrens Chat reports that Nano had a second source confirming Phase 6 rollout and details about TBC Classic. Obviously, nothing has been officially confirmed yet by Blizzard so take the rumor with a grain of salt.

So I kinda don't get the point of WoW classic anymore if it will get expansions as well. Sounds kinda dumb to me just re-releasing expansions again. Everyone liked Wrath of the Lich King so they should go with it at start.

I wonder how they are going to do it. Separate servers for BC, while leaving Classic intact? Allowing people to migrate? Feels like this would spread player base too much.

that's a very closed minded thing to believe, like you think everyone liked wotlk more than vanilla/tbc which is just factually incorrect

either way, I think that p6 in december is hella early and probably not going to happen. I think some servers still do not have the gates open, or at least only did very recently. p6 is probably in january

I started playing in late Vanilla and have played every expansion; TBC was my favorite expansion by far.  It was effectively Vanilla with much needed bug fixes and systems improvements without doing a full overhaul like WotLK and Cata did.  Back in TBC I thought it was awesome how we were effectively the antagonists.  We were invading Outland and we were toppling Illidan who we thought was a Dictator despite him actually being on our side.

I like how we are the a-holes in TBC.

Just to carry on the 'hundred different perspectives' thing, I thought this soft retconning of Illidan and the demon hunters was out and out the worst thing from Legion. ?

I'm going to guess separate servers with character copy for level 60s.

Burning Crusade was when I started raiding. Overall, I liked it, but some of it's systems and balance were rather wonky.

Many of Illidan's actions can't be considered good, using broken draenei as slaves and forcefully converting more orcs into fel orcs, among other things. Wouldn't call him a good guy back then.

Of course, he is not. He is an anti-hero, chaotic in nature, and his motivation cannot be seen in TBC. The only thing we know of him at that time is his hunger for power.

And to be honest I wouldn't call Legion storyline a retcon. It feels more like his actions was given context.

I don't want to go to extremes, but let's just say that his ultimately good goal does not justify his actions.

Maybe official Lore but I played a Night Elf Rogue with the Blindfold face option in Vanilla back in 2006 because what I really wanted to play was a Demon Hunter.  Night Elf Rogue was the closest thing.

Gotta remember WC3 was still recent and Illidan was a Tragic Hero not a Villian.  Even At the Time it was very Weird to the Player base that we were going after Illidan.  Even end game story in TBC doesn't make you feel like you are the good guy.

It really wasn't a Retcon in Legion, Legion just nailed it home that we were the bad guys canonically in TBC.

Burning Crusade was waaay more interesting for me, rather than this Wrath thing.

So they will roll out over Vanilla? Why not make different servers, for different games. This way if you want to stick to Vanilla, you can. I'm waiting for BC myself tho.

How is it soft retconning? He always had good intentions.

The new Battle.net is almost upon us! The long time beta is coming to a close and going live for certain NA regions now, with a full release coming in the next weeks as well. Check out the official post:
      Battle.net (source)
We’re getting ready to roll out the biggest front-end upgrade to Battle.net in years.
Battle.net has been a huge part of our history going back to the release of the original Diablo in 1996. We’re proud of how it’s helped people connect and play Blizzard games together quickly and easily. With the latest release, we want to welcome players of all ability levels and make sure they have a smooth time navigating the app.
Those of you who’ve been participating in the beta are already familiar with these updates. For everyone else, you’ll see some major changes when your client’s patched from the live version of Battle.net to the new version:
Improved navigation and layout—you can now favorite your games and arrange them for ease of access A much more expansive layout for news and game content in full-page view A revamped social pane so you can better see your friends and what they’re up to on each game tab  Major accessibility improvements—we’ve added the ability to navigate most of the app with your keyboard, increased our screen reader support, and improved the color contrast A new, consolidated notifications hub for messages and download status
The new patch will go out to parts of North America first so that we can ensure its stability. We’ll roll it out further in the weeks ahead, including to other player regions.
This is just the beginning of new features coming to Battle.net; we’ll keep iterating, improving, and adding to the app over time. We’d love to hear your feedback once you’ve spent some time with the new app, and you can share your thoughts on the forums.
Go play some games and have fun!

Blizzard is sending out new surveys to players about Classic Burning Crusade via mail!
Back in March, Blizzard sent the first Classic TBC survey to players via mail. They wanted to find out how the transition from Classic to Burning Crusade would be handled. Now, it appears they are sending out follow-up surveys.
Blizzard is asking via mail how interested would players be in a "Classic" version of TBC, and if they would simultaneously play 2 Classic versions of the game. One interesting question that appeared in the survey deals with a WoW Classic "reboot" realm where the game is as it was on Day 1 (e.g. all players start at Level 1, Molten Core and Onyxia are the only raids available, etc.).
      Summary of All Questions
How interested are you in a "Classic" version of The Burning Crusade? Thinking about your maim WoW Classic character, would the character you create on this new "fresh start" realm become your new main character or would you play this in addition to your main character? Where do you think you would spend more of your time? A new "fresh start" WoW Classic realm where all content is reset to Day 1. The Burning Crusade Classic. I'd play both equally. How likely are you to play a "Classic" version of The Burning Crusade? If World of Warcraft introduced a new WoW Classic "fresh start" realm where the game is as it was on Day 1 (e.g., all players start at Level 1, Molten Core and Onyxia are the only raids available, battlegrounds are not yet available, etc.) and content unlocks/progresses over time, how interested would you be in playing on that realm? Thanks to LetMeSpoilThisForU for the images.

The launch of Shadowlands was extremely successful for Blizzard. The new expansion became the fastest-selling PC game in history for 1 day, and ATVI stocks reached all-time highs.
The current share price is $89.39, according to Yahoo.

Blizzard France employees are going on strike against the planned Versailles office closure on Shadowlands launch date.
On October 6, we reported that Blizzard would be closing their French office in Versailles, which employs at least 280 people. The first strike as per the recommendation of their union happened on October 14.
A new call for strike against the planned Versailles office closure at Blizzard France is supposed to occur from November 24 onwards.
The union calls for an abandonment of the closure, diversification of the Blizzard activity in France, and investment in the care of psycho-social risks.
