Retribution Paladin 6.2

Recommended Posts

Maybe more around 33.33% to 34%, though thatll be different at 90 since we wont have that many stats to reach it easily

AoE rotation is final verdict -> storm -> final verdict -> storm

since

6HP give you 2x Holystormdmg

6HP also give you 1 Verdict + a double dmg holystorm. so more

hey, i noticed something in the rotation guide that didnt make any sense to me.

Here is what it says for multiple target rotation:

But since Final Verdict makes the Divine Storm cast after that 100% more powerful, wouldn't it make more sense to Final Verdict - Divine Storm - Final Verdict - Divine Storm (with ofcourse the holy power generators in between)? Because that way you don't lose any Divine Storm damage, but you gain Final Verdict damage.

That's correct and thank you both for pointing it out, we'll get it fixed asap.

Currently, it's because of the CD, but come t17 set it ups in priority especially with HoW buff

If it is more powerful, why not use it as soon as possible and use Judgement and Crusader Strike while waiting for Exorcism to come off cooldown ? Plus, there is a chance to be resetted, so better let it on cooldown to get a free one.

because by the time you use your other 2 HP generators you'll be sitting on nothing since it has such a high CD

I agree with katosix. I put Exo higher in my priority than Crusader Strike and Judgment because of the reasons he stated. With in-game testing it is VERY rare that I have nothing available to use. The chance of getting an Exo cooldown resetting proc while using the other abilities makes up for the longer Exo cooldown.

I really think Mastery is the way to go. Atleast before the raid content is released. The reasoning behind that is that you have absolutley no chance of even reaching close to hastecap and the mastery will give you more DPS without you needing any spesific ammount. Atleast I have had more sucsess going with mastery.

I agree with this, but I'm aiming for haste+mastery on gear and when only one is available I usually choose the haste.  Boss burst is typically 25-37k currently.

Here's Solsacra's reasoning behind the Exo priority

judgement benefits at a rate of 48%SP & 58%AP+30%(SoL)

exo at 140% SP.

exo may hit harder, slightly, but prioritizing it results in a significant rotation clash.

The only rotation clash I notice with Exo > CS and J is at the very beginning of a fight when I start with 0 HP, and that's if I'm not lucky enough to get a Exo-cooldown-reset proc. After that, with getting up to 5 HP and all the DP and Empowered Divine Storm procs, like I mentioned earlier, it's VERY rare that I have no ability available to use.

I've done a rather comprehensive update of the rotation page. Hopefully that fixes everything.

When it comes to stats priority, for straight up dps, the current priority makes sense to me. But if we're talking the hybrid paladins that like to support when it's necessary, Wouldn't the priority shift from Mast>multi>Haste>crit>vers to Mast>Multi>Crit>Vers>haste? Reason being that your crit heals are insane and those heals are only buffed by crit and versatility while haste does nothing to provide for those heals. If haste didn't give as little as .01% per point of haste, I might agree that the difference in dps would be significant enough to argue keeping haste on top.

Just a thought for an alternative build =P

Also, can multistrike proc off of our mastery? If anyone knows lol I'd be interested to hear.

Hand of Light does not multistrike but your abilities multistrikes benefit from mastery (just mentioning) and their dmg is included to your Hand of Light dmg in your Recount/Skada whatever you are using.

Also the guide focuses on maxing dps generally :D

Hey,

First of all, you guys did an awesome job with those tutorials or "theorycrafting" posts, whatever.

Well, raids aren't so far away from the release for now but... i was wondering on what should i buy as trinket? I mean, there are a lot of trinkets with 665 as ilvl but i dont know what i should take for a RetPal.

So yes, the choice is placed between Multistrike/Critical or Versatility as a second bonus.

We can equip a STR/Mastery with real statistics for the first one, i'm only talking about the second one here. So, can i receive your help, that would be really appreciated? :)

There's an old saying somewhere about rets and why they're there... but I can't remember the exact wording... lol.

What are ret numbers looking like right now, at least in dungeons? I don't trust noxxic's numbers. The last time I checked they were way too inflated.

Right now the proper Stat prio should be Mastery > Crit = Multi > Haste > Vers

As for trinkets, currently the 665 Scabbard is our 2nd bis up to and including 690 trinkets because of the length and potency of the proc.

During Sanctified Wrath , It should looks like something like that :

Possibly in AoE situations using Mass Exo, but it's been stated multiple times that Exo's priority will remain below every other skill.

Well, that would be my first pick then biggrin.png

The only thing that is also powerful and gives an inconvenient at the same time is the CD... I mean, we have 2 CD's with 2 minutes of cooldown and another one with 1 minute, i'm considering it like a CD because it needs to be cast at the beginning of the fights and now, there will be another one with 1 minute and a half :/

the only CD you need to line it up with is your burst, which means only use it with Wings, anything else and you could lose out on more dps than necessary.

Blizzard somehow forgot to update the item level of BoA tokens from Dreamsurges to the Season 4 item level so they recently hotfixed it to 454.
On live servers, Celestine the Harvest now sells BoA gear tokens with item level 454 (up from 415). Visit the active Dreamsurge location to find the vendor.

Check out our Dreamsurges guide for more information about the event!

Players in Dark Heart can embark on a short quest in Valdrakken that rewards a Personal Tabard  that is account-wide, but the design you create is character-specific.
After completing the quest, you can customize your Personal Tabard at tabard designers in any capital city. Thanks to MrGM for the screenshots.

In a recent Reddit thread, players shared their regrettable experiences with the game's infamous Black Market Auction House (BMAH).
The highest bids often come with stories of disappointment and frustration, as highlighted by these popular comments:
Reddit user MadsenAn regretted spending a whopping 700,000 gold on a Tabard of Brilliance, only to receive it from a Twitch drop the same day, calling the coincidence "personal."
Redditor DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET shared a tale of woe about spending 180,000 gold on a BMAH mystery box, which contained a Goblin Weather Machine that they had already received from a Twitch drop just a day earlier.
Sammywitchdr recounted how they spent over 1 million gold on a Swift Zulian Panther thinking it was the rare ZG Tiger from vanilla WoW, only to realize they already owned the panther from a previous expansion.
Thoms689 was duped into bidding 1.2 million gold for a Tabard of Frost by a friend who was secretly outbidding him to inflate the price, a betrayal that cost him both gold and a friendship.
Vitchman shared a frustrating experience with a 600,000 gold bid for what turned out to be an Ordos drop that was unsuitable for his character class, illustrating the risks associated with the mysterious contents of BMAH boxes.
Caronry discussed a close call with bidding 5 million gold on an Arcanite Ripper, thankful to have been outbid, which potentially saved them from later regret.
Sigilweavers told a comedic yet painful tale of bidding 900,000 gold for a Firelands mount only to discover they already owned it after winning the auction. This story serves as a cautionary reminder to double-check what you already have before entering a bidding war.
MattyIce8998 recounted an almost regrettable bid of 800,000 gold on Frostfire shoulders, narrowly avoided by being outbid. They eventually acquired the item when it became craftable, much cheaper.
These stories encapsulate the high-risk, high-reward nature of the Black Market Auction House, where players' fortunes can swing dramatically with each bid and the lengths to which gamers will go for the rarities WoW has to offer.
Do you have any interesting BMAH story for us? Don't forget to share it in the comments!

Find out how to obtain the new Spark of Awakening in Season 4.
Spark of Awakening is used to set the item level of crafted gear to Item Level 502 in Season 4, but how can you obtain one on live servers?
Abandon the "Aiding the Accord" quest if it's in your Quest Log.
Pick up the weekly quest from Therazal in central Valdrakken. As you can see, there are now three possible quests for you to receive that will change every week.

The weekly quest options (and objectives) will always be the following:
      Dragon Isles Quest
Participate in a Community Feast Participate in a Hunt Lay siege to Dragonbane Keep Zaralek Cavern Quest
Protect the Researchers Under Fire Loot a Secured Shipment (Suffusion Camp) Complete a Time Rift Amirdrassil Quest
Earn 50 Bloom during the Superbloom Complete a Superbloom Plant 3 Dreamseeds Quest Rewards
After completing the weekly quest you will receive 1 Splintered Spark of Awakening) via Weekly Awakened Activity and a Cache of Awakened Storms (containing gold or gear).
You will need two Splintered Spark of Awakening and 250 Flightstones to create one Spark of Awakening.
      Awakened Raid Bosses
Apparently, Splintered Spark of Awakening have a chance to drop from Awakened Raid bosses, as spotted by @azatoth668!

We'd like to introduce you to a game-changing nameplate addon for Season 4 that's essential for excelling in Mythic+ dungeons.
Tracking every mob and their abilities in Mythic+ can be overwhelming, but this addon excels by replacing standard mob nameplates and cast bars to enhance your gameplay.
Once installed, mobs with critical interrupts will display a thick orange cast bar, while less crucial ones will show a thinner yellow bar.

Mobs with less crucial interrupts will have a thinner yellow cast bar.

Additionally, any mobs that inflict heavy frontal cone damage are marked with an arrow and feature orange cast bars. A voice alert will also prompt you to move by announcing "front."

The addon further assists by indicating non-interruptible spells that require crowd control with a purple cast bar and a vocal "cc" alert.

For tanks, if you're not holding aggro, the nameplates of the mobs will turn red, quickly showing you which ones to target.

There's also a handy visual cue on the cast bar, surrounded by a green border, signaling when you can interrupt an ability and your interrupt skill is off cooldown.

      Ready to try it out?
You can download Quazii Plater here.
For setup assistance, watch Quazii's comprehensive video guide.
Quazii has also created a Mythic+ cheatsheet that details all critical abilities for Season 4 dungeons, available in a text format.
