Recommended Posts

My first honorable kill. I was questing in Ashenvale with my (beloved) Worgen Rogue and saw an Horde Pandaren Hunter running throught the forest. I followed it until i got into range to land a Cheap Shot. At the end, I got my first 3 honor points and the achievement. I felt so strong that day. :3

When I had to kill Hogger and spent approximately 6 hours searching for him only to end up in the Burning Steppes. Or else in WC3 Reing of Chaos the quest "The Culling" where you burn down all the buildings before Malganis turns the entire town - pretty fun ^_^

I just started playing WoW about 3 months ago so my favorite moments are very limited but I hope to make more in the future. So for me it would be getting the legendary item drop from molten core on my first run in it after only playing for about a month and reading in forums that people play for years and never get it. would love to get some swag and learn more about the game.

Great site by the way.

So there I was, engaged in an epic slaughter of Southshore back in 2010, when I see a low-level gnome peeking out at me from the inn. As i target the adorable little puntable, he darts back behind the corner. So I wait, and my patience is rewarded as he peeks out again, only to immediately dart back into cover.

Naturally, I found this adorable, and wanted to see if I could get the little guy to come out of hiding. I did what anyone would do in the situation and took a seat. Again, I was rewarded, as my gnome friend actually stepped out of the inn. Very slowly, he crept forward, taking a few steps and stopping to gauge my reaction. I stayed perfectly still.

When he got within a few yards of me, he steadily walked up to where I was. As he reached me, I stood up, and what happened next broke my death knight's icy heart:

The little guy hugged me.

Here I am, fresh from death and furious, taking out my aggressions on his small town....and the little guy HUGS me.

From that day until the Cataclysm and the destruction of Southshore, I never again sacked the town.

Thank you, Gnomius, for reminding me that the smallest people can have the biggest hearts.

My favorite Warcraft moment came after beating Mimiron on hardmode.  We hit the enrage and our pally tank bubbled, allowing dots to kill Mim.  If you have ever seen the enrage you know the room fills with fire, no avoiding it.  So when the pally's bubble was done, he died too.  Well, this just happened to be the kill that unlocked Algalon for us and the quest item was inside the chest sitting in the middle of a room filled with Napalm.  After reaching a GM, we were told they could send us the loot but not the quest item.  So, we used speed pots, fire resist gear and lots of cooldowns to get someone in to loot the chest.  It took us around an hour to finally get it.  We cheered louder when we got the quest item than we did for killing Mimiron.

That was a great memory.

My favorite moment was doing LBRS & UBRS over, and over, and over, and over again. I remember being such a noob that I would run ZF on my main toon, NE Warrior, from level 44 to 56 just because I had the hammer to summon the last boss. Good o' days!

I would have to say my best memory would be when locks still had to quest for their journyman mount and had to get a group together and run different dungeons to get the quest items before going and fighting the boss for the mount. That was the best achievemnt for me playing WoW. I was one of the last few to do that questling before it was taking out. I still have all the items that was needed for the quest in my locks bank jsut to keep as a reminder of my achievment. Thank You Blizz

My most epic moment was getting a guild escort through BRD to create our guild's first Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros back in Vanilla WoW for our guild leader's warrior.

We then proceded to melt faces across the battlefield of Warsong Gulch with Ashkandi's and Sulfuras on the field.

Has to be the first time a player took it upon himself to help me out and teach me how to heal.  It was in Blackfathom Deeps.  The great feeling of getting help from someone who knew I was lost and cared enough to take the time to help and not yell blew me away.  From the day on,  I always saw wow as a great place that people could share what they know and pass it on.  It was also the point at which I became hooked on Healing.  To this day, I wish I could have said more to them for making me feel so much better about myself.

There have been many people along the way to be sure that have been as kind and I think that when people find out about the great community in WOW they truly get it.

Wow... Where to start? And does is have to be one?

:D

First time tanking in Ragefire Chasm, so nervous because I was learning the ropes and worried about someone dying.

Doing my first raid, something I thought I would never ever do. It was Naxxramas. I was brought in as a back up dps and the first fight I was introduced to was Thaddius. My machine was sooo stressed out by the spell effects/class abilities plus keeping up with the - / +. Adrenal pumping-keyboard smashing-mousing clicking fun.

Mine would definitely be the raid of Icecrown Citadel, leading up to Arthas. Warcraft III was definitely one of the defining reasons I started playing WoW and Blizzard games in general. Finishing something that started a little over five years ago was going to end. While I never beat the Lich King back then, I did end up defeating him by myself years later in MoP and did not regret doing so as it was more fitting to me having a one on one with the one true king. (Not Stannis Baratheon unforunately)

Getting help from my brother and cousin to finish my Horse quest for my Paladin. I look back at that now and laugh that I had to quest for it and others just got the mount.

My favorite memory of World of Warcraft started when the level cap was 60 and you did not get your first mount until you were 40.   During this time, members of my guild were total strangers but over the years until now, we have become good friends and actually have traveled to meet one another face to face.  Also it allowed me to keep in touch with my brother and play together.  I lost him two years ago but his memory still lives on with me as I continue to play.  In a way it has created a WOW family which we adventure together but are there for one another in or out of the  game.

My favorite time in WoW was back in '05 when I was lvl 11 and thought I was cool as snot and walked over to four horde all of them lvl 20+ and they preceded to murder my face and I was like, HEY, you can't do that to me I'm a lvl 11 alliance pally. So I went back and they did it again. Lesson learned. :-P

My favorite moment must have been in TBC, walking around in Shattrath haven't even entered my first raid yet, suddently seing Ashes of A'lar on an alliance hovering over the bank. It was one of the first world drops, I was kinda new to the game and was stunned seing that epic looking mount. Still love the uniqueness of the mount, probably mostly because of how unobtainable it was for me back then.

I guess it'd have to be the date I had about 8 years ago at the waterfall near the Wailing Caverns entrance. :-)

Other than that I couldn't really tell. First time wandering around in Nagrand? Finally calling Benediction/Anathema my own? Getting the Kingslayer title with my laid back raid? The hilarious Forest Hozen quests? So many memories.

Some great news for Chinese players, as Blizzard have signed a new agreement with NetEase, and players will be returning to their games as early as summer 2024!
Most Blizzard games were suspended in January of 2023, with players losing access to their characters and being unable to play World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Warcraft III: Reforged, Overwatch, the StarCraft series, Diablo III, and Heroes of the Storm, due to an expired licensing agreement. Luckily, a new deal has now been made!
A lot of WoW players decided to re-roll brand new characters on Taiwanese and Korean servers after the old deal stopped. Their old character data is saved, however, but it will be from back before patch 10.1, so it's going to be a tough decision on how to proceed for them. Perhaps Blizzard can come up with a solution to merge the accounts?

The news comes from Core Esports, which suggests Blizzard's game services could be back by the end of March or the beginning of April.
After 14 years of partnership, Blizzard and NetEase hit a rough patch in 2022, leading to failed negotiations. Consequently, when the licensing agreement concluded on January 23, 2023, Blizzard's game services were suspended across mainland China.

With Johanna Faires recently taking on the role of the new President at Blizzard, let's delve into the history of Blizzard Presidents from 1991 up to the present.
Allen Adham served as President from 1991 to 1998. Mike Morhaime held the position of President and CEO from 1998 to 2018. J. Allen Brack assumed the role of President between 2018 and 2021. In 2021, Jen O'neal was named Co-Leader of Blizzard alongside Mike Ybarra. However, she chose to leave the company after just three months. Following her departure, Mike Ybarra took over as President until a few weeks ago when he also announced his departure from the company on January 25, 2024. Johanna Faires was appointed as Blizzard's President on January 29, 2024.
We've come across a Reddit post where someone alleges to have worked at Blizzard during Mike Morhaime's tenure as President, continuing through Ybarra's leadership. We can't vouch for the accuracy of their statement, but here's what they had to share with the community.
