TheRagingwolf 254 Report post Posted August 13 It seems the new layout that is being rolled out does not give the option to comment and discuss articles directly from the article. Instead, you have to come to the forum and find the thread about the article. Makes the site less engaging for me and less appealing.

Hi there, There is a comments section right at the end of the article. Is that not showing for you? Many thanks

What browser are you using (not that it should matter)? In the meantime, can you try to clear cache to see if it fixes it? Many thanks.

Swarf 108 Report post Posted August 13 The comment section wasn't showing for me initially either, but it is showing correctly for me now.
TheRagingwolf 254 Report post Posted August 13 This appears to be an issue with FireFox. I opened the site up in Chrome and the comment section shows up.

I will be polite and suggest that a toggle / switch to render the older, bright, cheery, easily read news site and related comments be made available for the few who browse using a desktop. Thank you.
Natalia 20 Report post Posted August 14 Indeed, the issue seems to be in Firefox only. As per our investigation and other reports found on Mozilla support about comments not loading on websites using the same comments system, the Enhanced Tracking Protection for Firefox is what causes the issue. Therefore, for users preferring Firefox, having the Firefox Privacy set to Standard and/or adding the site to the Exceptions in the Enhanced Tracking Protection seems to be the fix. Thank you. Many thanks for your feedback and for your support. As we are improving our website's tech and switching from forum-style news posts, I am afraid the co-existence of the two would not be sustainable on the long term.

Swarf 108 Report post Posted August 14 (edited) Ok I am now having this issue, and I use Chrome on PC. Multiple refreshing, clearing cookies, etc., has no effect. However, when going back and trying again after a few minutes, it magically is working correctly. Something is definitely wonky. Andddddd it's gone again 🤪 Edited August 14 by Swarf

Andddddd it's gone again 🤪 I'm guessing since the issue on Firefox was related to privacy settings, specifically settings related to cross-site tracking, that you will want to tinker with your Chrome privacy/tracking settings to see what keeps the comments up consistently. I am not a Chrome user or I would guide you through it, apologies.

In Chrome, could you try going to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Click on View permissions and data stored across sites Then, look for icy-veins.com and click on the arrow shown. When the options expand, check if pop-ups or the like are blocked. In my testing, when I blocked that option, the comments were not loading at all. I hope it helps. Arcling 898 Report post Posted August 16 Too bad old comment section is gone. I don't really like the new layout. I find it less convenient than previous one. Is there no chance for some changes now?

I've gone through my settings as advised and have ensured that popups & redirects, as well as other icy-veins related settings, are set to allowed. The problems are intermittent and are persisting. If the comment box does appear on an article page, refreshing the page makes it disappear, and it doesn't come back again. The comment box will not always appear. Arcling 898 Report post Posted August 23 @Stan What will happen to forums once new layout is fully rolled out? Are they going to be removed with all associated comments?

I don't think so, news still exist on this platform and we don't want to lose them. I imagine the old forums will be read-only, but I'll check with the team. Comments have been temporarily disabled on the new platform.
