The Neverness to Everness Version 1.1 livestream went over a lot of content, from the new story and Sunward Island, to new events, characters, the Porsche collab, and more. There is one small patch note that ended up getting a surprisingly huge amount of reactions from players.
Version 1.1 will officially add an option allowing you to mute Taygedo.
Yes, specifically Taygedo.

Poor Taygedo Has Become One of NTE’s Most HATED Characters
In case you are unfamiliar with him, Taygedo is the small otter-like “mascot” character with a TV head that appears throughout many quests in the game. He is part of Eibon, and he does tend to… yap a lot. He is loud, constantly talks, has some very questionable missions, and has a very distinctive voice that everyone either finds adorable… or incredibly annoying.
Some players genuinely like the little guy because of how chaotic and goofy he is, but others have spent weeks begging the developers for a way to silence him during story content.
Apparently, the developers were listening.
Players Are Celebrating the Mute Option
The feature was somewhat hidden among the Version 1.1 changes, but once it was pointed out, everyone seemed pretty happy about it. A lot of players joked that the Taygedo mute option was secretly the best quality-of-life improvement in the entire update, even mentioning Genshin and the fact that they could, on their side, start to mute Paimon.
Others found it hilarious that the developers specifically added an individual mute setting just for one character instead of simply lowering his voice or shortening his dialogue overall or something like that.
At this point, Taygedo has basically become one of the game’s accidental mascots purely because of how divided the community is over him.
Taygedo Still Lives On… Just More Quietly
Thankfully for Taygedo fans, the feature is optional. If you enjoy his constant yapping, you can simply leave him unmuted. But for everyone else, Neverness to Everness Version 1.1 may finally make long quest sessions a little more peaceful.
