Genshin Impact Now Lets You Reset the Purveyor of Punishment Achievement-Here’s Why

If you’ve let a player join your world in Genshin Impact and then somehow maxed-out the “Purveyor of Punishment” achievement, you’re not alone. And now, there’s finally an official fix. In Version 5.6, HoYoverse quietly added a manual reset button for the achievement, which tracks your highest recorded CRIT DMG. The feature is available under the Feedback option in the Paimon menu.

This addition comes after months of reports from players encountering a concerning issue. A hacker who’s been joining co-op sessions and unleashing many hits of 20,000,000 damage on the Perpetual Mechanical Array and ruining your Crit-tracking achievement. While it sounds like a harmless flex at first, the implications are more annoying than impressive. The “Purveyor of Punishment” achievement is meant to showcase your personal damage ceiling, and once that 20-million value gets logged, there’s no going back… until now.

Why Can This Exploit Just Not Be Fixed?

It is unknown as to why HoYoverse does not simply fix the hack/exploit causing this to occur. That being said, we know the hacker in question has been banned but keeps returning with new accounts which is what prompted this new solution under the Paimon menu.

Once reset, it will start tracking your CRIT DMG anew. That said, it’s worth noting that Primogem rewards from the achievement will not be reissued. No infinite Primogem glitch this time.

Players who have been chasing personal damage goals can also benefit from this fix in other ways. The Purveyor of Punishment achievement also tracks CRIT DMG highs from any content with crazy high damage modifiers which might not accurately display your true highest CRIT.
