Genshin Impact is rolling out an exciting new gameplay mode for the Imaginarium Theater, Lunar Mode! This fresh addition offers players the chance to obtain a special item, along with Primogems and a variety of other enticing rewards along the way. What Can We Expect From The Update?
On October 1, 2025, Genshin Impact will launch a new season of the Imaginarium Theater, featuring the all new Lunar Mode. This gameplay mode introduces tougher challenges, unique rewards, and more flexibility for players.
In Lunar Mode, once your characters consume enough Vigor, up to two Arcana Challenges may appear at the same time. These challenges are designed to be flexible where you can adjust your team before Act 10, retry as many times as needed without losing Vigor, and even review detailed information ahead of each challenge to plan your strategy.
Clearing all Arcana Challenges and completing the Act 10 Performance Challenge earns you a special reward: the Lunar Arcana. Each season, players can claim one Lunar Arcanum of their choice, such as The Magician or The High Priestess.
To make collecting these items easier, a new Lunar Arcana Case allows you to store and trade Arcana with friends in Co-Op Mode. This means you can collaborate with others to complete your collection. The case is obtained after completing Visionary Mode and a related quest in the Theater Lobby.
Alongside Lunar Mode, the update also includes optimisations to boss encounters and blessings, ensuring smoother and more engaging gameplay.
What Are The Requirements to Participate?
Lunar Mode Requirements
To access Lunar Mode in the Imaginarium Theater, players will need:
- 28 characters in total, with at least level 70.
- Up to 4 additional backup characters available.
- The option to bring 1 Supporting Cast character.
Rewards
Completing the Act 10 Performance Challenge unlocks increasing rewards tied to each cleared Arcana Challenge. These include:
- Primogems
- Mora
- Talent materials
- Other valuable upgrade items
Additionally, new players can claim a Debut Performance Gift with bonus rewards, including extra Primogems, Mora, and rare resources.
Stella Rewards
Earning 12 Stella during a season of the Imaginarium Theater grants players a special artifact material: the Sanctifying Elixir, used to strengthen equipment further.
What Other Adjustments and Updates Can We Expect to See?
The upcoming season of Imaginarium Theater brings a major addition, Lunar Mode alongside system improvements and new rewards for Travelers looking for fresh challenges.
This update introduces several optimisations to enhance gameplay in both the Visionary and Lunar Modes. Boss encounters are now more optimised, as players will be guaranteed a character event featuring an elemental weakness to the upcoming boss, making preparation easier. After completing battles, instead of being limited to one of two characters, players can now select from three new options, giving more flexibility in team composition. In Lunar Mode, this expanded choice also applies after clearing Arcana Challenges and during character events. Additionally, the Brilliant Blessings system has been refined, allowing players to choose and upgrade multiple blessing types or focus on one before starting Act I, tailoring strategies more effectively to party members and enemy traits.
