Genshin’s Miliastra Wonderland Provides 0 Primogems, Has Seperate Battle Pass and Gacha

The long-awaited UGC (User-Generated Content) system, now officially named Miliastra Wonderland, is quickly turning into one of the most ambitious and controversial additions Genshin Impact has ever attempted.

New details emerging from the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit have revealed the implementation of a full standalone battle pass, gacha banners, and a premium shop system inside the UGC experience. Most importantly, you cannot earn Primogems in Miliastra Wonderland. Will this make or break the UGC mode? Let’s dive into what we currently know.

Standalone Progression Systems, Battle Passes and Gacha

Miliastra Wonderland features its own internal Battle Pass system called Chronicles of the Realms, with an enhanced tier titled Epic of the Realms. It appears to follow a similar model players are used to in the base game: you complete quests and challenges to gain EXP, unlock rewards, and can optionally purchase premium tiers for faster unlocks loot.

But this isn’t just another cosmetic pass. UGC also features a dual-banner gacha system. Players will have access to both a free currency banner (using items called Geodes) and a paid currency banner using Arcane Keystones. These currencies are acquired separately from the main game’s Primogems and Genesis Crystals. In fact, current leaks state plainly: you cannot obtain Primogems in UGC.

This setup includes UGC-exclusive currencies:

  • Geode – Earned by playing UGC, used for the free gacha
  • Arcane Keystone – Paid banner currency
  • Chronal Nexus – Genesis Crystal equivalent

Engraved Shard – Equivalent to Starglitter, from dupes on the paid banner

Lustrous Materials – Used for cosmetic conversions from dupes

As for rewards, the placeholder banners currently show cosmetics, outfits, accessories, and materials-further showcasing how the UGC gacha will remain separate from Teyvat character progression.

Paid Shop, Character Presets and UGC Character

Miliastra Wonderland comes with a top-up system already in place, letting you buy Chronal Nexus directly via real-world currency. Prices mirror those used in the main game, meaning the monetization model is expected to be very similar.

You’ll also have access to a UGC-exclusive character (not your Traveler). While you can’t use the same name as your Traveler, this custom character is free to gender swap at will and even adopts the elemental affinity of your main game Traveler when brought into Teyvat. Notably, it’s been shown that you can use your UGC main character in regular Genshin in some way, though character access in UGC is otherwise locked until version 6.3.

A social feature has also been mentioned: UGC gifting. You can designate a friend as a “receiver” and directly gift gacha rolls to them. Duplicates they already own will be converted once they receive the items, reducing waste. It’s unclear how this feature will be regulated, but it suggests a surprisingly robust trading economy.

No Primogems Are Available in Miliastra Wonderland?

From what has been revealed by members of the community. It seems Miliastra Wonderland is entirely cut off from the Genshin Impact “economy” and it’s currencies. This working both ways means that players will not be able to earn pulls, primos or make Teyvat Battle Pass progression in any meaningful way by playing the UGC.

Player reception to this information has been mixed. On one hand, players always desire more sources of Shiny Rocks to pull their favourite characters with, while at the same time news of Primogems not being used to pull for cosmetics also means Miliastra Wonderland won’t leave you starved when Columbina comes around because the team dropped a cool outfit.

While some players have stated there’s no reason to play Miliastra Wonderland, the reason is ultimately for the infinite content and gamemodes made by players of the community!

UGC Is Bundled In Completely With Genshin Proper

One slightly disappointing note for storage-conscious players: Miliastra Wonderland is not a separate download. It’s bundled into the main Genshin client and will eat into your overall install size. Combined with the high-volume asset use for outfits and environments, expect the game size to increase post-launch.

That being said, this shouldn’t cause Genshin Impact to swell like a storage balloon. Most of the UGC mode by default uses the existing assets already present in the game. With the amazing work the team does into optimising Genshin Impact, you may not even feel the download size increase. Furthermore, if Miliastra Wonderland was a seperate download, for players wanting to try out the UGC mode, they would need to download all of Genshin’s assets a second time which would cause massive bloat.
