When HoYoverse announced the new Fast Equip “loadout” feature for Genshin Impact as part of Version 5.7, many players were excited. The idea of saving and quickly switching between artifact sets seemed like a major win for team building and overall quality-of-life.
But now that the feature is live, everyone is realizing it’s not quite what was promised.
What We Were Supposed to Get

Back on June 3, HoYoverse revealed plans to improve the artifact system. The goal was to allow players to “save and move between customized artifact loadouts“. On paper, this sounded like a real loadout system! One where you could save complete artifact sets for each character and easily switch them with one tap depending on your needs.
What We Actually Got

In reality, the new system is more of a filter tool than a true loadout manager.
Yes, the filtering options are better now. You can sort your artifacts by main stat, sub stats, and other helpful details while equipping gear. This makes it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for, especially if your inventory is huge.
But here’s the problem:
- You still have to equip artifacts one by one
- You can’t save full builds for quick switching
- It doesn’t remember or store sets across characters or scenarios
In short, it doesn’t actually let you swap between full loadouts, which is what many players were hoping for.
The response from the community has been pretty clear: this isn’t the quality-of-life improvement we expected. While the improved filters are appreciated, players were looking for something that would finally reduce the pain of micromanaging artifacts, especially when switching between Abyss teams, open-world sets, or even just when swapping the main role of flexible characters.
Instead, we’re still stuck swapping each artifact one by one, which makes team adjustments time-consuming, especially for meta players who need to optimize gear constantly.
