Varka is officially out in Genshin Impact, and as usual, HoYoverse did not just drop the character and call it a day. There is also a new web event you can participate in, and this one is quick, simple, and actually kind of fun.
It is called “Challenge Varka,” and yes, it comes with free Primogems.
What Is the Challenge Varka Event?
The theme is straightforward. Grand Master Varka is back in Mondstadt, and he is hosting a Knights’ Trial. You, as a “novice knight,” have to prove yourself.
The actual challenge is pretty easy. Once you open the event page and you click “start”, you basically just need to try to stop the timer at exactly 5 seconds.
That is it.
Even if it does sound easy, it might be hard to hit that perfect 5.00 timing. Of course, nothing prevents you from using certain tricks to hit that perfect timer. The easiest way to do it is to just try multiple times. When you get pretty close to 5 seconds, it becomes much easier to know exactly when you should stop the timer.
It is one of those “just one more try” mini-games.
How to Participate
Participation depends slightly on the platform, but the general steps are:
- Follow one of the official Genshin Impact social accounts (X/Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
- Play the web event
- Share your result publicly with the hashtag #ChallengeVarka
If you are using X (Twitter), it is probably the easiest option. Once you post with the proper hashtag, the official account replies automatically with a redemption code.
Just make sure:
- Your account is set to public
- You include #ChallengeVarka exactly as written

Event Duration & Rewards
The event will be running for around a week:
- From February 25, 2026, until March 4, 2026 (23:59 UTC+8)
- Redemption codes are valid until March 11, 2026 (23:59 UTC+8)
So do not sit on it too long. When we are talking about a redemption code, it is your personal code that will be sent to you once you publish your participation. As mentioned, on X/Twitter, it is pretty much directly after you publish your post, but the time can vary for other platforms.
Once you have your code, you can redeem it the usual way.
This redemption code will be sent to every participant, and you will obtain the following rewards:
- Primogems ×30
- Broken Drive Shaft ×3
- Mora ×20,000
On top of that, 100 random participants across all platforms will also receive:
- Primogems ×160
Keep in mind that you can submit multiple times, but you can only win one prize. The rewards are shared across all platforms, and the additional 160 Primogem prizes are delivered within 30 business days after results are announced.
Is It Worth Doing?
It takes maybe a few minutes, costs nothing, and gives you guaranteed Primogems if you participate correctly. So yes, it is absolutely worth doing.
Even if you are not chasing the 160 bonus Primogems, 30 free primos for clicking a timer is about as low effort as it gets.
And if you are confident in your timing skills, now is your moment to prove it to the Grand Master.
