3. Comments On The Variation

With many ways to clear the board, including Brawl, Sleep with the Fishes, and Primordial Drake in addition to weapon removal from Harrison Jones and Gluttonous Ooze. With this is mind, removal rarely needs to be rationed and can be freely used to stop aggressive decks as soon as possible. Despite all the anti-aggro tools, this variant still manages to find space for multiple late-game cards in the form of Ysera, Elise the Trailblazer, and Grommash Hellscream.

4. Pros and Cons

As previously mentioned, the large amount of board clear effects make this variant very favoured against Aggro decks such as Pirate Warrior. While there are not as many big threats compared to greedier Control Warrior decks, there is still more than enough to compete with other Control decks.

This variant is particularly lacking in the mid-game minion department, opening it up to being punished by midrange decks such as Jade Druid and Midrange Hunter. In these matchups the AoE effects are generally not good enough to deal with a steady stream of medium-sized minions, forcing inefficient use of removal spells.
