General Information

Below, we give you a brief overview of the abilities that E.T.C. has access to. You should read these ability descriptions before reading further, because the other pages of the guide assume that you have a basic knowledge of E.T.C.'s abilities.

About the Author

1. Powerslide

Slide to a location dealing 91 (+4% per level) damage and stunning enemies hit for 1.25 second.

Powerslide Icon Powerslide causes E.T.C. to rapidly dash towards the targeted location, dealing damage and stunning all enemies hit for 1.25 seconds. Powerslide allows E.T.C. to pass through units only. Attempting to Powerslide through structures or terrain will prevent any displacement provided by the ability, essentially wasting its effect.

Powerslide is E.T.C.'s defining ability. On its own, it provides a reliable area of effect stun to initiate, peel, and interrupt channeled abilities. The lengthy dash allows you to quickly position yourself behind your opponents to body block them out of an escape route, or between your fragile allies and your opponents to hinder their attacks. In general, you should avoid using Powerslide only for the negligible amount of damage it deals.

As a combo skill, Powerslide functions well with Face Melt Icon Face Melt's knockback to further push enemies towards or away from your allies. They also have the same 12-seconds cooldown, making them reliably up for each other when used together.

Powerslide's stun effectively allows you to successfully channel Mosh Pit Icon Mosh Pit. Its dashing component also lets you dive into the heart of your enemy team to achieve as many hits as possible.

2. Face Melt

Deals 68 (+4% per level) damage to nearby enemies, knocking them back.

Face Melt Icon Face Melt causes E.T.C. to instantly deal damage and knockback nearby enemies.

Face Melt's main purpose is to displace your opponents where you want them to be. Powerslide Icon Powerslide offers E.T.C. a reliable mobility tool that can be used to properly position yourself depending on your Face Melt needs. While standing between your allies and opponents, the ability's knockback will create a protective buffer zone to give your fragile ranged damage dealers and Support heroes breathing room, especially against melee heroes.

Positioning yourself in a way that your opponents stand between you and your allies allows Face Melt to shove fragile or fleeing enemies right back into your team's range. As an instantaneous area of effect knockback, Face Melt can reliably interrupt short-ranged channeld abilities.

3. Guitar Solo

Regenerate 66 (+4% per level) Health per second for 4 seconds.

Guitar Solo Icon Guitar Solo causes E.T.C. to buff himself for 4 seconds, greatly increasing his Health regeneration.

Guitar Solo makes E.T.C. very difficult to whittle down. Over time, it allows him to outheal most poke damage and harassment, forcing a concerted effort from your opponents to cause any lasting damage. Combined with Block Party Icon Block Party and Imposing Presence Icon Imposing Presence, the regeneration provided by Guitar Solo makes E.T.C. one of the strongest duelists in the game. This attribute is especially useful for a tank, as the pressure he can exert on isolated opponents often necessitates the response of at least another hero, relieving your own teammates from pressure.

4. Mosh Pit

After 0.75 seconds, channel to stun nearby enemies for 4 seconds.

Mosh Pit Icon Mosh Pit causes E.T.C. to repeatedly stun nearby enemies for up to 4 seconds after a 1-second cast time. As a channeled ability, Mosh Pit will end prematurely and go on full cooldown if E.T.C. is hit by a stun, silence, or knockback. If the initial 1-second cast time is interrupted, Mosh Pit will instead go on a shorter 10-second cooldown.

A best-case scenario for Mosh Pit is to hit all members of the opposing team. This is seldom possible for several reasons, which range from the availability of reliable escape abilities to being crowd controlled yourself. As such, you must often resign yourself to trying to use Mosh Pit against a few significant targets only.

In general, it is important to try and stun heroes with abilities that can reliably interrupt Mosh Pit. These abilities include:

If the enemy features too many — generally around 3, depending on your comfort levels — of these abilities, Stage Dive Icon Stage Dive should instead be considered as a Heroic ability.

The presence of high threat targets must also be considered. Most melee Assassins — Illidan, Kerrigan, Sonya, Thrall, and Zeratul — make for appropriate Mosh Pit targets, as they are often very dangerous to your backline. They also tend to be positioned forward, making it easier for you to use Powerslide to setup your Mosh pit channel. Mosh Pit can also be used to try to momentarily prevent key defensive abilities (such as Ancestral Healing Icon Ancestral Healing or Divine Shield Icon Divine Shield)] from being used by support heroes while the rest of your team focus down a specific target.

5. Stage Dive

  • Cooldown: 75 seconds

Leap to target location, landing after 2.75 seconds, dealing 495 (+4.0% per level) damage to enemies in the area, and slowing them by 50% for 3 seconds.

Stage Dive Icon Stage Dive causes E.T.C. to channel for 1.5 seconds, jumping over to an area after another 1.5-second delay. Stage Dive deals damage and reduces the movement speed of enemies within E.T.C.'s landing area by 75% for 3 seconds. Stage Dive can be cast globally. A large area of effect marker warns all players of impending Stage Dives.

Though seldom used mid-combat due to its long cast time, Stage Dive is useful as an initiation tool due to its lengthy and potent slow down effect. On its own, the ability may be enough to force an enemy team to split up or use movement ability cooldowns in order to avoid its effect. This allows your own team to capitalise on the precarious position of your opponents.

Stage Dive can also be used as a last resort escape, though this is not recommended due to its long cooldown. It should be noted that the ability's initial 1.5-second channeling time can be interrupted by crowd control, as with all channeled abilities.

6. Rockstar (trait)

After E.T.C. uses a Basic or Heroic ability, he gains 20 Armor for 2 seconds. This effect does not stack with itself.

Rockstar Icon Rockstar passively causes E.T.C. to buff himself and nearby allied Heroes for 4 seconds whenever he uses a basic or Heroic ability, increasing attack speed by 20%. The attack speed bonus does not stack, and the duration of the buff is simply refreshed — not extended — by successive casts.

Rockstar pushes E.T.C.'s basic attack DPS to the upper echelons of Warrior heroes. This allows him to trade effectively while laning, except with Arthas. Rockstar works well with basic attack-dependent heroes, such as Illidan, Raynor, Hammer, Tassadar (while under Archon Icon Archon), Tychus while under Commandeer Odin Icon Commandeer Odin), and Valla.

When trying to maximise your team's DPS in situations that do not require you to use your abilities in any particular manner (such as killing a boss or taking down a structure), make sure to keep Rockstar active by using an ability every 4 seconds.
