1. Heroes Lunara Works Well With

In this section, we will look at the heroes that work particularly well with Lunara.

1.1. Jaina

Jaina Portrait Jaina provides multiple movement speed slows, which allow Lunara to apply and stack her Nature's Toxin Icon Nature's Toxin more easily. At the same time, the movement speed slow also reduces the mobility of enemy Warriors and Assassins, which enables Lunara to kite them more efficiently.

1.2. E.T.C.

E.T.C. Portrait E.T.C. is a formidable frontliner, who is capable of keeping several enemies occupied, which buys Lunara enough time to spread her Nature's Toxin Icon Nature's Toxin. Furthermore, E.T.C.'s Rockstar Icon Rockstar can increase Lunara's Basic Attack speed, which proves to be particularly useful if she goes for a Basic Attack oriented talent Build.

1.3. Johanna

Johanna Portrait Johanna is an incredibly resilient Warrior, capable of preventing enemy Heroes from approaching Lunara. Also, Johanna's Condemn Icon Condemn and Blessed Shield Icon Blessed Shield provide good groundwork for Lunara to follow up with both of her Heroic Abilities.

1.4. Kael'thas

Kael'thas Portrait Kael'thas offers some of the strongest burst damage in the game and thus complements Lunara's damage over time very well. Furthermore, Kael'thas usually becomes the main focus target due to his lack of escape mechanisms, which allows Lunara to act more freely during team fights.

2. Heroes Lunara Is Countered By

In this section, we will look at the heroes that counter Lunara particularly well.

2.1. Illidan

Illidan Portrait Illidan is capable of chasing and sticking close to Lunara because of his Dive Icon Dive and Sweeping Strike Icon Sweeping Strike. Also, his innate life steal provided by Betrayer's Thirst Icon Betrayer's Thirst can negate the damage over time coming from Lunara's Nature's Toxin Icon Nature's Toxin.

2.1.1. How To Play Against Illidan

The most important thing to keep in mind when playing against aggressive Heroes like Illidan is to always position yourself close to your Support and, if possible, behind your Warrior. Doing so will make it a lot more difficult for Illidan's team to follow up on his initiation. If you happen to lane against Illidan, make sure to use your superior range and harass him with your Basic Attacks.

2.2. Kharazim

Kharazim Portrait Kharazim becomes a very potent AoE healer after acquiring the Echo of Heaven Icon Echo of Heaven talent at Level 7, which allows him to counter heal Lunara's damage over time.

2.2.1. How To Play Against Kharazim

Identifying whether Kharazim goes for a healing or melee Assassin talent Build is the first important thing you have to do. If chooses a healing Build, make sure to keep track of his Divine Palm Icon Divine Palm, as your damage over time can trigger it unintentionally. If he chooses a melee Assassin Build, make sure to keep a healthy distance from Kharazim at all times, since Radiant Dash Icon Radiant Dash allows him to stick to you quite well.

2.3. Raynor

Raynor Portrait Raynor's Advanced Optics Icon Advanced Optics provides him with improved range on his Basic Attacks, which enables him to poke Lunara from afar.

2.3.1. How To Play Against Raynor

Fighting Raynor in a one-on-one is usually a bad idea, so make sure to have at least one of your teammates at your side before engaging him. During team fights we recommend avoiding him until his movement and attack speed is impaired by crowd control effects. If you happen to lane against Raynor, make sure to stay out of range of his Basic Attacks and focus on killing Minions instead. Due to the fact that Raynor does not have any innate escape mechanics, gank him can be a way to keep him under control.

2.4. The Butcher

The Butcher Portrait TheButcher combines devastating Basic Attacks with strong engage and movement speed slows, which can cause immense problems for Lunara.

2.4.1. How To Play Against The Butcher

Leaping Strike Icon Leaping Strike is a crucial ability to bring some distance between you and the Butcher. Make sure to wait until he has used Ruthless Onslaught Icon Ruthless Onslaught and leap behind him as soon as he is about to attack you in close combat. Before Level 10, the Butcher is likely going to roam and look for targets to gank, so make sure to play extremely safe during the early game. At Level 10, make sure to immediately check the Butcher's Heroic Ability. If he chooses Lamb to the Slaughter Icon Lamb to the Slaughter you should avoid direct contact at all costs. However, if you still get caught try to remain calm and refrain from using Leaping Strike Icon Leaping Strike while affected by Lamb to the Slaughter, since the chains will always pull you back in. Instead, wait for Lamb to the Slaughter's effect to wear off and then use Leaping Strike to escape the Butcher's grasp.
