Anomaly Arbitration in HSR 3.5: Endgame Mode for Whales Only?

Honkai Star Rail will release a new endgame mode in the next patch, and it will be the game’s most complex challenge yet. Here is everything you need to know to prepare for it.

At the start of the month, Honkai Star Rail’s developers released an article covering every upcoming change to the game. While it focused on the 3.5 update, the article also mentioned important news about an upcoming game mode: Anomaly Arbitration.

Everything We Know So Far

This is an excerpt from the article, which contains all official information about this mode. Players will unlock the mode after clearing all other endgame content on the hardest difficulty. It will require three teams to beat three stages, after which players will fight the final boss. After defeating the final boss, you will earn special rewards.

Honestly, this doesn’t give much information about the mode itself. But that’s only if you stick to official information…. What about leaks? Watch out, spoilers ahead!

First of all, we know the identity of the final boss thanks to leaks: it will be the main antagonist of Amphoreus’ storyline, Lygus. You have to fight him at the end of the 3.5 story, and he can be pretty challenging. Long story short, he counters teams based on memosprites and allows you to use your Ultimate at the cost of a high amount of HP.

You’re probably thinking, “But what about rewards?” Players are pretty conflicted about this, since the mode will give no Stellar Jades, the currency used to obtain characters through the gacha system.. But players will be able to gain a new Pom Pom skin! Good enough? Right?

Every reward obtainable through the mode.

Is The Game Mode Too Hard?

Although players are pleased a new endgame mode is coming, rewards aren’t the only concern the community has. To clear the final stage of the mode on the highest difficulty, leakers say that you need to have E2S1 characters at the very least. The problem lies in Lygus’s health pool that’s way too high!

Even players with E6R5 characters on their team find it challenging to beat Lygus within the required number of cycles. Here’s a video testing Phainon’s and Castorice’s team with every character at E6R5 :

In my opinion, you shouldn’t think of this as an endgame mode in the gacha sense of the word. While it won’t be here to give you rewards to obtain characters, the fact remains that it is still an enjoyable way to challenge your account. Do it for the Pom Pom skin!

Only a small part of the community will be able to clear it, so do you think you will be strong enough?
