Cyrene is set to arrive in version 3.7, and hype around her release keeps building. She’s expected to become the next universal support, bringing significant value to most accounts. But one leak is sparking debate in the community: Cyrene might launch with a skin on day one.
Is It Too Soon?
The leak comes from Sakura Haven, who simply stated, “Cyrene will release alongside a new skin for herself.”
As soon as the news spread, players began speculating. Some believe the skin will retain her current NPC form even though she will get a brand new adult form as a playable character, while others hope for a completely new design. There’s also talk that the skin might be tied to a spending event, like what we saw during the anniversary.

While a spending event isn’t out of the question, many doubt it would land well this time. The anniversary event was successful because the shop reset, making the double reward offers feel worthwhile before they disappeared. With Cyrene, however, no reset is expected, so the incentive just wouldn’t be the same.
Is Cyrene Receiving Preferential Treatment?
If you’ve only played Honkai: Star Rail, you might not fully get the hype around Cyrene. But in the wider HoYo-verse, she’s an expy of Elysia, one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise.
And that’s precisely what rubs some HSR players the wrong way. Since the devs know she’s a fan-favorite, she seems to be getting extra attention, while others are left waiting.
Take Kafka, for example. Over a year ago, a leak suggested she might be getting a skin. Fans were thrilled! She’s not only an HSR-exclusive character but also one of the community’s most popular. Yet, there’s been no follow-up since. Now, with rumours that Cyrene could get a skin the moment she debuts, some players feel let down, even betrayed.
So, what’s your take? Should Cyrene really be the first in line for a skin, or do you think other characters deserve the spotlight after all this time?
