The long-awaited Fate series collaboration is finally live in Honkai: Star Rail, but players quickly noticed something missing: Archer and Saber have no English voice acting at all.
A notification in-game confirmed the absence: players using the English language setting will hear nothing when Archer or Saber speak. This affects both characters throughout the event. According to official information shared in-game and via HoYoLab, only the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean localizations currently include voiceovers for the duo.
While it was known that there would not be any English Voices for them, what players did not realize was that the option to only switch Saber and Archer to Japanese would only be added later on!
What Does It Mean
Version 3.5 of the game will finally allow you to manually switch Saber and Archer’s voice language to Japanese via the “Voice” option in their Character Profile. However, by then, some parts of the collaboration event and the limited-time rewards, will already be over.
That leaves players with imperfect solutions:
- Play in English with no voices for the collab characters
- Switch the entire game to Japanese, which requires downloading the full Japanese voice pack, and not everyone has the space on their phone or PC for that
- Wait for version 3.5, but miss out on exclusive event rewards
For a crossover of this size, the absence of English voiceovers, especially without any temporary workaround, has led to disappointment from many players. While some are switching to Japanese now to experience the event with full voice acting, others are opting to play in silence, which slightly ruins their experience.
