HSR’s Next Anniversary Character Has Yae Miko Fans Losing It

Some leaks just dropped about the featured character for HSR’s next anniversary. If you’ve been playing Genshin Impact or Honkai Impact 3rd, she will look familiar!

The Content Of The Leak

While Evernight’s and Permansor Terrae’s kits were leaking on Reddit, another post appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and it captured everyone’s attention. It concerns Honkai Star Rail’s featured character on their next anniversary, following Acheron and Castorice.

Here is the leak itself:

If you have not been playing Genshin Impact or Honkai Impact 3rd, you probably don’t understand why the name “Yae Sakura” provokes so much hype in the community. But she is a fan favorite in both games.

The mention of the “Night Parade of One Hundred Demons” highly suggests that her in-game design will be based on Japanese folklore.

Aside from her design choice, players are curious to see what an Elation-path character will look like. Elation as a playable Path will be the main gameplay update on the next planet that the Astral Express will visit.

What To Expect

As the featured character for the anniversary, there is no doubt that she will be a powerful unit. She is also an expy, that is an alternate version of an existing character in another universe. These kinds of characters are usually quite strong, as they already have a fan base. Although they may appear similar and share some traits, they remain distinct individuals.

Elation is not yet a playable Path, but some theories are circulating about what it will ultimately do. Players can play it in the Simulated Universe, but I wouldn’t consider this a reliable example. Remembrance used to be a playable Path in the same Simulated Universe. But its final version differed significantly from its original gameplay. While the Simulated Universe’s version relied on freezing enemies, the actual Path, released with Amphoreus, revolves around memosprites.

That is to say, Elation, as its Simulated Universe version, is centered around follow-up attacks. But that doesn’t mean it will be the case in the end.

If you’re curious about Elation, I suggest keeping an eye out for an upcoming event.

HoYoverse tends to tease upcoming mechanics through events. For example, the “Trailblaze: Friendship Is Magic!” event, released before Amphoreus, helped players familiarize themselves with the memosprite mechanic. So you can expect this event to give some information about what Elation will bring to the table as a playable Path.
