HSR’s Next Boss Is Terrifying: Here’s How To Beat It

Through leaks, we learned that a new enemy will be released during the 3.6 update, and his design is uncanny. It makes you wonder what kind of horrors we will encounter in the next chapter of our Amphoreus journey.

Ichor Memosprite: Judge of Oblivion (cute, isn’t he?)

The Return Of Shielders

But aside from his looks, this new enemy introduces a mechanic that brings back shields in the HSR meta. Ever since Amphoreus began, characters that provide shields have started to feel weaker, given how enemies work on this planet. Considering how Aventurine dominated the Penacony meta in the sustainer role, this was to be expected. However, some players who invested a lot of resources in him began to feel disappointed as his utility declined…

However, in this specific case, shields will have a significant impact on the fight. When the boss is not Weakness Broken, you will deal 50% less Damage to him. But when Weakness Broken, your Damage will increase by 50%. He will also lose 10% of his HP when you break his Tougness bar. His action will also be delayed by 200%of the normal turn delay.

But how will shields impact the fight? When specific attacks hit a shield, the boss will instantly lose 60 Tougness. Also, using a shield will help you mitigate his most powerful attack, Hemotort Decapitation. When the boss uses this attack, you will need to choose one character who will take 5000 Damage. If the selected character isn’t shielded, the boss applies a DoT equal to 50% of the Damage not blocked by shields.

So shields will play a massive role in your ability to beat this boss quickly. Just like Penacony’s Echo of War (the Sunday boss), he will have multiple Toughness bars. So even with shields, he will take some time to break.

And what if you don’t have good shielders? Fear not, the game also allows you to play without shields for the most part. But it won’t save you from his Hemotort Decapitation. Every time a summon is defeated, the boss loses 60 Tougness.

Best Characters To Defeat Him

Characters that can provide your team with strong shields will be powerful against this boss. If you pulled on his limited banner, Aventurine will be one of the strongest options. His shields are strong enough to sustain multiple attacks. He can also refresh them naturally without needing to use his skill.

However, Aventurine is a limited character, so not everyone has him. As a standard banner character, Gepard is an accessible and effective alternative. He will be weaker than Aventurine, and his shield uptime will be more difficult to maintain. But if you don’t have any other option, he gets the job done.

And if you have neither Gepard (how?) nor Aventurine, Dan Heng Permansor Terrae will be the best option. As the most recent Preservation character set to be released in 3.6, his kit is tailor-made to deal with this specific boss.

And the best part? According to leaks, he will be given for free during the 3.6 update! So every player will have the best counter for this boss if you don’t have other shielders or memosprite users.

However, if this leak proves to be incorrect, or if you prefer not to play shielders, Castorice and Evernight will be the best alternatives. They both utilize the memosprite mechanic to its fullest, as their gameplay involves killing their memosprite to deal damage.

Will you bring back your Aventurine for this fight? Or will you use Dan Heng’s new form if he really ends up being given for free?
