What a Patch 3.9 Would Actually Mean for Honkai Fans

Surprising news shook the community yesterday, raising questions about the game’s future.

But before jumping to conclusions, let’s break down what actually happened.

Will There Be a 3.9 Version in HSR?

The leak, shared by Sakura Haven, sparked a frenzy across forums and social media. Until now, most players believed version 3.8 would be the final update before the game shifted to its next big chapter. Out of nowhere, though, the leak suggested a 3.9 patch could be on the way.

Naturally, fans began speculating about what this could mean for upcoming characters and the storyline. Could this finally be the moment Screwllum, Mr. Reca, or even Lancer from the Fate collaboration make their debut?

Others took a more grounded approach, noting that the timing could align with the Lunar New Year in China. If so, the extra patch might focus on Xianzhou before the story moves to Edostar. Previous leaks also hinted at more Fate collaboration content, which could tie into this update as well.

So, is 3.9 really happening, or just another rumor fueling the hype?

Another Case of Leaker’s Wars?

Just hours after Sakura Haven’s leak stirred up the community, another surfaced, this time with completely opposite claims.

The second leak came from Anon Leaks, another well-known figure in the HSR scene, and it directly contradicts the earlier report. According to them, version 3.8 will in fact be the final patch in the 3.X cycle. They also noted that, according to HoYoverse’s own words during the 3.0 livestream, Amphoreus’ story was meant to wrap up in patch 3.7.

Conflicting leaks like this aren’t unusual, and many players even suspect they’re sometimes dropped just to stir up drama.

While the possibility of a 3.9 patch still exists, it would mean two updates to bridge the gap between the end of Amphoreus and the start of Edostar. That would surprise many players.

So where do you stand? Do you think 3.9 is real, or is this just another case of the rumour mill running wild?
