Last Epoch just shared a big update about its future, but not everyone is thrilled with all of it. The upcoming Orobyss expansion will be completely free for existing PC players, but the developers also revealed something more controversial! We will get new “Paradox Classes” but they will be sold as paid DLC.
Season 4 and Beyond

Last Epoch just shared big news about the game’s future, and there is a lot for players to look forward to!
The developers confirmed that the upcoming Orobyss expansion will be completely free for anyone who already owns the game on PC before it launches. New players and PlayStation 5 players will get the base game, all seasonal content, and the expansion bundled together as one purchase as well.
Before the expansion arrives, Last Epoch will run two more seasons. Season 4 is currently planned for early 2026 and will bring a new seasonal mechanic on top of highly requested updates. Season 5 will follow later in 2026 and will lead directly into the Orobyss expansion.
New Class but Paid DLC
Alongside the expansion, the team is introducing something new called Paradox Classes. These are described as fully alternate playable classes that use totally different systems than the rest of the game.
The devs say this will let them experiment with new playstyles, but some players are already worried about the idea of locking classes behind a paywall.
Krafton’s “Ai-First” Controversy
The developers also addressed the recent concerns about publisher Krafton’s recent “AI-first” comments, confirming that their do not intend to change how they approach development. The team says they are still focused on hands-on development and are actively hiring more staff to support future updates.
If you have experience that fits and want to join the Last Epoch team, you can even apply directly through their website!
For now, the studio is focused on improving internal tools, expanding the team, and preparing the game for PlayStation 5. They are making sure future seasons stay high quality instead of rushing them out.
One thing is sure, you can look forward to 2026 for more Last Epoch!
