Last Epoch‘s Season 3: Beneath Ancient Skies hype train keeps going! Following yesterday’s Rift Beast reveal, today’s Hype Week post gives us a first real look at the new Ancient Era zone! You can expect a prehistoric area, that looks like a paradise but is filled with danger, mystery, and some serious visual upgrades!
New Enemies Within the Ancient Lands
The new Ancient Era zone is not just a pretty landscape. It is a massive playground for the biggest predators you can encounter:
- Dinosaurs
- Raptors and Tyrannosaurs are on the hunt, ready to make you their next meal.
- The Draal
- A highly intelligent and aggressive insect species that once infested Eterra. Their massive hives can still be found in the mountains. This is the same place where the Last Refuge is located years after. Enter at your own risk, you might not leave in one piece.
- Even the plant life here can kill you, so watch where you step!
A Diverse and Dangerous Environment
Season 3’s Ancient Era zones also promise a wide range of new areas to explore! You can expect zones like:
- Snow-Swept Mountains
- Underground tunnels
- Crystal Mines filled with glowing creatures
- Ancient Oasis with dense jungles in the area that will one day become Majasa’s desert
- Floating Chains and Islands! You will notice a huge flying Island tied to the ground by massive chains.
Updated Visual & Tech
To bring the Ancient Era to life, EHG has improved the visuals of the game. These upgrades include things like:
- A New wildlife systems
- Birds flying around, multiple animals, fishes, and butterflies now populate the world.
- Updated water shaders
- More realistic lakes, rivers, and oceans.
- Greater environmental detail
- From background fauna to enhanced textures, the Ancient Era feels alive like never before.
As the devs put it, “sometimes it is worth stopping to enjoy the scenery, as long as the scenery isn’t trying to eat you.”
Supporter Pack Updates
For players who enjoy cosmetics, EHG also prepared a new supporter pack for Season 3! Keep also in mind that the old packs will disappear soon as well:
- New Season 3 supporter packs are live now, including the adorable Backsloth and Nigel the LE Toucan pets! Who wouldn’t want a cool Sloth backpack!
- Abyssal supporter packs will be leaving the store on September 8th.
