Blizzard has announced that the Escalation update for Mists of Pandaria Classic arrives on March 31.
The patch continues the story around Garrosh Hellscream and the growing rebellion, with Alliance players running SI:7 operations near Orgrimmar and Horde characters helping Vol’jin push back against the Kor’kron.
The update will introduce four new scenarios, add Heroic difficulty to some existing ones, continue Wrathion’s Legendary questline, and bring the Battlefield: Barrens world event.
On top of all that, Blizzard is also reducing the leveling requirements from 85 to 90 by 33%, which will make it much easier for players to reach endgame content.

Mists of Pandaria Classic: Escalation Arrives March 31
It is time to fight back against the aggressive reign of Garrosh Hellscream, once proud Warchief of the Horde in Mists of Pandaria Classic: Escalation.
When: March 31, 2026, at 3:00 pm PDT
As tensions rise and the fate of Azeroth hangs in the balance, this latest content update unleashes a wave of new features and challenges for heroes across Pandaria and beyond. Gear up to plunge into the ongoing war with new scenarios, Heroic Scenarios, a new conquest event in Northern Barrens, and more.
Garrosh Hellscream’s crimes are many, and his allies are dwindling. However, he still holds the Horde capital city of Orgrimmar and retains full command of a vast army of loyal Kor’kron elite soldiers, fed by reinforced supply lines running throughout the Barrens.
Toppling the tyrant will not be easy, so come prepared for a monumental struggle.
New Scenarios
- Battle on the High Seas: Defend your faction’s fleet and fight for control of the seas against enemy forces.
- Blood in the Snow: Help Moira and her guard confront the Frostmane trolls in Dun Morogh after dispelling a magical storm at Shimmer Ridge.
- Dark Heart of Pandaria: Answer the Warchief’s call to assist goblin engineers in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms as they uncover a mysterious artifact—and trouble.
- Secrets of Ragefire: Infiltrate the Emberdeep Caverns and work with the Gob Squad to investigate a recent disappearance in Durotar.
Heroic Scenarios
For seasoned adventurers seeking greater challenges, a new heroic difficulty is now available for select scenarios. Heroic scenarios require pre-made groups and feature bonus objectives for additional rewards, including Valor Points and a chance at Epic-quality items and gear. Six heroic scenarios will be available at launch, including new experiences and enhanced versions of fan favorites:
- Battle in the High Seas
- Blood in the Snow
- Dark Heart of Pandaria
- The Secrets of Ragefire
- Crypt of Forgotten Kings
- A Brewing Storm
Players may complete Scenarios—normal or heroic—for bonus valor each day.
Quest Campaign: Escalation
The Darkspear Trolls have risen in rebellion against the Warchief! Alliance heroes will scout Orgrimmar and engage in SI:7 covert operations to weaken Garrosh’s power, while Horde champions aid Vol’jin’s insurgency against Kor’kron forces. Begin your journey by visiting Lorewalker Cho at the Seat of Knowledge in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Battlefield: Barrens
Undermine the Kor’kron supply lines in the Northern Barrens by defeating loyalists, collecting resources, and escorting caravans. Earn upgrades for Latent Kor’kron Armor as your faction rallies to overthrow the Warchief. Participate in the Escalation Quest Campaign to learn how to deepen your involvement in the Barrens conflict.
The Legendary Quest Continues
Wrathion’s journey persists as champions are called to visit the August Celestials across Pandaria. Only those who have completed Wrathion’s earlier tasks, including “Heart of the Thunder King,” will be eligible to continue the questline.
Brawler’s Guild Updates
Bizmo has raised the floor in his arena to hide the bodies. Or… to improve the sight lines. We’ll never know for sure. Either way, face new tiers of bosses in the Brawl’gar Arena located in Orgrimmar and Bizmo’s Brawlpub located in Stormwind, and explore special VIP areas for top-ranked brawlers.
Unique challenge cards now drop from mobs and reward satchels, granting access to bonus bosses. Brawlers that manage to prove their mettle and reach Rank 9 earn an extra invitation to the guild, which can be traded or shared with friends. Additionally, leveling from 85 to 90 will now require 33% less experience.
